Neosmart EasyRE Professional for Windows 8.iso

Can of course be easily booted with Easy2Boot & partition image (created by MPI_Tool_Pack_Plus_CloverLite_034)

But if I Rufus it to USB, using EFI boot I get this error from its bootx64.efi

If I replace bootx64.efi with Grub2EFI then it only boots to grub & does not carry on to main Slitaz image

Any idea how to get this iso to EFI USB?

So this is a Rufus issue only and not an E2B issue?

Shouldn't it be posted in the Rufus group?

Not Rufus issue at all. I could do the same by hand (GTP format), extract all files, no magic in it.

I suspect that this iso is "problematic"

I suspect that something here might have to be changed for USB boot

linux /boot/bzImage rw root=/dev/null autologin sound=noconf kmap=en acpi=off noapic nolapic noacpi nomodeset

Also can not compare Rufus to E2B, as it is apples to pears. E2B does it via Partition Image, I want to have plain USB boot

E2B is great by the way

Try Rufus but format as FAT32.

It IS FAT32, otherwise there would be no EFI boot

You said it was GPT = multipartition, I wondered about single FAT32 partition case

GPT does not mean multipartition, just a single partition formatted as FAT32

It is to do with Slitaz boot from EFI

ah - so MakePartImage is fixing the UUID but Rufus does not - I see.

But UUID is not specified anywhere in the original iso

But I think that the easiest option will be .imgPTN to USB clone...

Oh - the link you gave

http://oldpapyrus.wo...z-in-uefi-mode/

Section 8  says to change the UUID. I don't have the ISO.

So I don't understand - E2B makes a FAT32 partition and extracts the files to it. If Rufus does the same then why doesn't it work?

That I do not know how it happens

Only difference is that Rufus does GPT FAT32 partition & E2B just plain FAT32 partition

But the solution is to just write the .imgPTN file to USB with Win32DiskImager

Boot on real hardware works perfect:

- via EFI boot it goes straight in,

- in CSM it gives E2B menu & also boots fine.

Great, thanks
