Hello. Can someone help me to run ultimate-edition-3.8-x86.iso in Hiren's Boot? How it supposed to be written in linux.cfg menu?! I already have the .iso in the iso folder.

LABEL utima
MENU LABEL ^Ultimate Edition 3.8-x86
find --set-root /iso/ultimate-edition-3.8-x86.iso
map /iso/ultimate-edition-3.8-x86.iso (hd32)
map --hook
root (hd32)
chainloader (hd32)

I write like above, but wont boot. :(

Best Regards

First off, it could have helped to mention that "Ultimate Edition" is an UBUNTU derivative OS.

Now, have you made this a separate OS boot image, and if so, do you have the info from that boot entry (probably grub4dos, but can't be sure, since it is ubuntu...Also, what media (DVD, USB Flash, USB HDD, etc.)  That also can make a difference.  Also, give more details on the type of computer (bios vs. EFI)...

Also, what is the purpose of adding it to Hiren?  Have you consitered some other means to (I am assuming) put them both on a single flash drive, keeping them as the original ISO's ???

So, give more details on what youhave , and what you want to accomplish - then maybe someone can help better.

Ok. its a USB Flash, and the type of computer is for bouth, if possible. The purpose is to make a usb flash to help me diagnose pcs. Its like a usb repair kit. Since "Ultimate Edition" have some good functions, like wi-fi check, delect lock folder and etc.... I just want to make a live usb, but into hirens boot.

Best regards

OK,  that helps a bit, but I'm not sure why what you did wouldn't work.  It might be the attempt to map it into memory or ???

I would suggest using something like http://reboot.pro/to...ent-discussion/  (easy2boot), since it allows you to update ISO's on a repair type flash more easily.   Building things into AIO disks - Hiren's (which has some "illegal" things on it - or at least questionable), UBCD, etc - is usually more trouble than it is worth.  You have to update them, etc.

Easy2Boot is a pretty neat system to automatically give you a boot menu, and then load/boot the specified ISO.  And Steve is pretty active here on the forums too.

Good Luck...

Your menu seems to be a cross between syslinux and grub4dos????

Hirens always runs better if you extract the files from the ISO.

There is usually a menu.lst file in the \HBCD folder.

So just install grub4dos and run that

e.g.

title Run Hirens
configfile /HBCD/menu.lst

If you want to use Easy2Boot, see the Hirens section here
