If you use the grub4dos bootloader, you can use

chainloader /HBCD/Boot/bootmgr

to run bootmgr. Is this what you want?

You have a special knack for finding old info and trying to apply them without really understanding important parts of them, like you know:

http://reboot.pro/to...folder/?p=73350

See if this is more pertinent ;):

http://reboot.pro/to...r-of-windows-8/

though it might be of little help for UEFI.... :whistling:

@Wanko

Thanks for the useful links...........

Actually you are right. I know I should have to learn about things with basics and deep knowledge. But as i say earlier that I am a VH student. I can not read more articles, thread, web pages in a day due to my low vision and poor internet speed. It's why I want to use things by knowing their features and working, not their internal functioning and complex structure.

Some times I have to waste my hours in connecting internet in order to read your reply, posts ,threads and downloading of small files too. And as I say earlier that i want to use things with optimum utilization without deep understanding of them. In fact knowing deep understanding of things is not so useful for me because i am just a user not a developer which want to use things in their best way by just learning over idea of them.

It's why I have to disturb you for stupid and simple things. I think you can understand my problems. I mean how I can do lots of testing with deep knowledge without resources like Internet Speed, Better Connectivity and better Eye Vision.....

BTW, tons of thanks for everything................

Please share  a modified  'BOOTMGR1' file (with file path \Boot\BC1 ) with me if you don't have any problem...........so that I can complete my project as soon as possible..........

Thanks in Advance

Regards......................

I do understand your difficulties, but you are in a CATCH22 loop.

If you are NOT a "developer" and just a plain "user" and you cannot understand how things work or you want them without "deep understanding of things" , then you should limit your goals to "non-developer" ones, on the other hand, if you want to reach "developer goals", you will need to become a "developer".

You have to consider how developers taking part to technical forums like this one do this in their free time, for free and when they feel like it, they develop what interests them, it is improbable that asking (over and over) about (crazy) ideas, coming from a fragmented and often incomplete understanding of the PATH towards an unspecified, not properly defined or simply whimsical GOAL, that require most probably lots of work you will EVER manage to get to your GOAL.

As it was suggested to you:

http://www.911cd.net...showtopic=25697

http://www.911cd.net...ndpost&p=175299

As an example try describing WHY a "normal" Easy2boot setup does not work for you, and/or WHY a "normal" UEFI MULTI setup does not work for you and for your goal.

We have 2 (two) different, known to be working and supported, ways to multiboot from USB (including through UEFI), if you manage to explain WHAT is "wrong" with them, or WHY the one or the other does not fulfill their scope in your case or WHICH additional feature(s) you find missing, then (maybe) the developers might decide to follow your suggestion or feature request (if possible) and find a way to extend the tool.

Keep in mind that "I am a simple user and I want a Ultimate-Super-Smart-Secret 'Removable' USB Drive with Mega-Booting and you should make one for me and you should make it as soon as possible, actually now!" is not seemingly a valid reason.

@Wonko

@jaclan

First lots of honor and regards to 'Wonko' and 'jaclan' for encouraging me.............

I love 'Steve' and I am using 'Easy2Boot' from one year and I do not prefer any other Multi-boot tool except it because it fulfill my all requirements. Easy2Boot is the Best, Unique and Universal Multiboot tool which I have used ever. But I always have to change BIOS setting from UEFI to BIOS/MBR/CSM in order to boot 'Easy2Boot' and load 'E2B Menu' in UEFI based PC which I do not like. E2B also cannot UEFI boot via System Firmware for Dual Partitioned Removable UFDs.

Actually following is the para which force me to use 'UFD_FORMAT' and 'UEFI_MULTI'

" Win8.1SE x64 boot.wim of size 400 MB is Universal WIM Boot Image file for booting BIOS and UEFI computers. After booting from USB with x64 boot.wim you can use portable App WinNTSetup_x64.exe to mount XP/7/8 Setup ISO in ImDisk Virtual Drive. WinNTSetup3 will prepare local harddisk for Install of XP/7/8 "

In fact, 'UFD_FORMAT' and 'UEFI_MULTI' are very good tool but both of them does not fulfill my needs. .i.e

 'UFD_FORMAT' does not provide 'Partition size' option in order to create a desired size 'Partition 1' and 'Partition 2' while RMPrepUSB allow us to create a desired size 'Partition 1' by 'Partition Size' option. 'UEFI_MULTI' also does not fully satisfy me because it does not allow me to put 'VHD' files in the Boot Partition instead of System Partition. It also does not allow me to boot 'WIM' files through Grub4dos 'menu.lst'.  It's why now I have to adopt 'BCD Store editing' in order to modify 'BIOS BCD', 'UEFI BCD', 'bootmgr' and 'bootmgr.efi' so that I can put all my Boot Files (except EFI folder and bootmgr.efi ) and Payload files (ISO, .imgPTN, WIM, VHD etc.) into my Hidden Boot Partition in order to BIOS+UEFI booting. Finally yesterday night I found 'GUI DISM.exe' which allow me to add/integrate/inject Drivers (Firadisk , cfadisk/diskmod etc.) into WIM files so that I can access my both Partitions (Data  Partition and E2B Parition) of Removable USB Drive within from running 'Win8.1SE_x64_boot.wim'.

So overall these are the reason WHY a "normal" Easy2boot setup does not work for me, and/or WHY a "normal" UEFI MULTI setup does not work for me and for my goal. So finally I decide to use both 'Easy2Boot v1.50' and 'BOOTICE/BCD Editing' in order to fulfill my Goal.

Finally I have completed 60% of my Goal. And trying to complete it whenever I will manage a UEFI based PC.

Regards..............

I have one doubt,

Is Wonko = jaclan ?

OR 'jaclan' is big brother of 'Wonko' ?

Thanks for Everything.............

"jaclan"?

jaclaz ! :)

And sure, Wonko the Sane :smiling9: is the alternate personality of jaclaz on reboot.pro.

So, all in all ALL your point is:

Easy2boot is OK for everything BUT it doesn't support UEFI booting.

Steve6375 might want to have a look at the more detailed post devdevadev made here:

http://www.911cd.net...ndpost&p=175342

but if I get this right, the issue you report:

I am using 'Easy2Boot' from one year and I do not prefer any other Multi-boot tool except it because it fulfill my all requirements. Easy2Boot is the Best, Unique and Universal Multiboot tool which I have used ever. But I always have to change BIOS settings (UEFI mode to BIOS/MBR/CSM mode and Disable Secure Boot) two times (Before and After Windows Installation) in order to boot 'Easy2Boot' and load 'E2B Menu' in UEFI based PC which I never want to do. E2B also cannot UEFI boot via System Firmware for Dual Partitioned Removable UFDs.

is simply NOT solvable, as Easy2boot relies on the capabilities of grub4dos which is BIOS compliant but not UEFI compliant, though *some* (and only *some*) functionalities are available in UEFI with Easy2boot using Clover.

Steve may be able to provide more accurate info, and possibly suggest some other workaround, but until grub4dos wil be made (if and when) UEFI compatible, I doubt that it can be done.

And of course IMHO the "second hidden" or "secret" partition is the usual senseless complication that a lot of people introduce :frusty: for no real reason.

If you don't want anyone else to access your USB stick DO NOT GIVE IT to them and MAKE SURE they cannot have physical access to it. <- easiest security method around, 100% guranteed

However, even set aside the "secret" or "hidden" second partition, which I repeat is NOT something *needed* but only a *wish*, making things unneededly complex, I am not sure to understand what the *real* issue is, I believe you can use the "Universal" "Win8.1SE x64 boot.wim of size 400 MB" from Easy2boot through Clover. :unsure:

@Wonko (jaclaz)

Actually E2B support UEFI booting via both System Firmware and Clover in case of 'Fixed USB Drives', but not in case of 'Removable USB Drive' by changing BIOS/UEFI settings to enable legacy/CSM module and disable Secure boot.

       I think the people who have lots of money for Storage Drives could not understand the importance of 'Secret Partition'. I think 'Secret Partition' provide better security in case of accidental format/deletion of E2B Drive.  I know I can use external HDD or Other USB Drive for Data Storage Purpose but keeping External HDD/Other USB drive along with 'E2B Drive in Pocket/Hand is not looking so comfortable during journey or Outside work. It's why I want a common 'Removable USB Drive' for both 'Multi-Booting' and 'Data Storage' purposes.

        I know I can use the "Universal" "Win8.1SE x64 boot.wim of size 400 MB" from Easy2boot through Clover but for it I have to change BIOS/UEFI settings to enable legacy/CSM module and disable Secureboot. :unsure:

        Actually I want a handy, light USB key that will be UEFI Multiboot capable along with Data Storage Partition without requiring changing BIOS/UEFI settings to enable legacy/CSM module and disable Secureboot.

Regards...............

IF the point is about "Removable" vs. "Fixed", just find a way to flip the bit of your USB stick. (or save some money and buy one of the fastish new USB 3.0 sticks that are already "Fixed")

@Wonko

Actually "Removable" vs. "Fixed" is not a single point. I know I should have to buy a new Microsoft Certified Fixed USB 3.0 USB Sticks but it will not be so useful for me because it never allow to have 'Secret partition'. And I have to still change BIOS/UEFI settings to enable legacy/CSM module and disable Secure boot in order to UEFI Multi-Booting.

Thanks for beautiful suggestions..........

I really don't get it.

http://rmprepusb.blo...-large-all.html

I was asked recently if it was possible to multiboot large >4GB All-in-One Windows installer ISOs using Easy2Boot in both MBR and UEFI mode.

After some work, I can now answer 'Yes - as long as you use a USB Hard disk for E2B'! - or a USB Flash drive of the 'Fixed Disk' type.

Is there a reason why you cannot flip the bit (setting your currently "Removable" USB stick to "Fixed")?

Did you look for the Manufacturer Tool and failed to find it?

Or you found a suitable tool but it doesn't work on your stick?

Or you don't know how to use the specific tool?

In other words, have you already tried to get to your GOAL through this path:

http://reboot.pro/to...edit-menu-list/

http://www.911cd.net...showtopic=21850

http://www.911cd.net...ndpost&p=175213

and failed or you never tried it?

If you are "lucky" the Lexar boot-it tool might do.

If you have issues with identifying the stick and/or finding the relevant tool and/or use it, I may try and help you (of course with NO guarantees whatever), sometimes it works:

HEy.......Steve..

I am 'Krishna Dev Anand'  who had suggested you for 'Method 4'. And i know that 'Method 4' cannot UEFI boot via System firmware. And I want UEFI booting of small 500mb 'Win8.1_x64_boot.wim' via System Firmware (not via Clover) which I think can be only done by Boot Manager ( not by Grub4dos ).

Tons of thanks and regards for 'E2B v1.50'...............

It seems I need to be blunt. :( (actually blunter than usual :w00t:)

The whole idea of the "secret" second partition is NOT *needed*, it is FOOLISH, it represents a complication and, more than that, seemingly the "developers" have not found a way to have it, or have it exactly the way you wish for it, on the other hand you have not the capabilities/knowledge (nor seemingly the will to learn them) as you are a "simple" user, and cannot or do not want to become a "developer".

Life is tough :(

If you flip the removable bit you can have Easy2boot (and I believe also have UEFI booting) working the "normal" way, without need ot change BIOS/UEFI, but you CANNOT have the second partition "secret", is this the issue?

If yes, this is NOT a real issue, it is a wish, a whim that you have or fancy, it is not a *need*.

No, of course not, I replied to it (the post just after it is by me) only because I had nothing better to do and obviously without reading it.

The point is that noone Knows the extents of this UEFI compatibility (or incompatibility) with different devices, 2 or more partitions, etc.

As I believe and cdob :worship: from time to time confirms, in each and every specific UEFI implementation there may be (or may be missing) something.
