I would like to know How to make a *.img then boot from it using grub4dos on a flash drive

The os on the phisical drive is DOS 6.22 thare are 2 partitions

I think the ide controller is fobar but it is still booting from a flash

note that its a CNC mashene thats parts are expencive to replace but more than that is that it works like a normal pc with phoenix bios and everything

What size is the IDE drive and 2 partitions?

So you need to remove the IDE drive - connect to another computer (or use USB adapter) - run a clone program (e.g. RMPrepUSB - Drive->File).

Then use File->Drive to copy the contents to the flash drive.

But I guess it depends on the sizes??

I got That CNC up this morning ,seems it needed some manual hdd settings for it to pick up was needed, but the ide controller is temperamental at best,we are looking at a 40 GB hdd with a 30mb primary and 1.8GB extended (rest is unallocated)partition table, but i will only get my hands on the drive again when the CNC is broken again, for now it is in production so i cant play with it, i will post here again if that happens .....
