Hi,

I'm new to this whole issue so I want help :)

I used to deal with live CDs a lot, but now I want to create them.

What I want is simple.

I have ISO image of Windows XP, all what I want to,

1) Boot the XP as a LiveCD from my USB, NOT to install, but as a LiveCD, to help recover some files or troubleshoot urgent issue.

2) Same as 1, but this time from CD and not USB.

That's it.

Thanks in Advance :)

JFYI, it usually works the other way round.

First you make a working Live CD, and then you find a way to load it from USB.,

You won't normally want to boot an "XP" as LiveCD (though it is possible it has a set of limitations), you want to male a PE (PE 1.x) based on your Windows install CD.

A suitable project to begin with is UBCD4WIN:

which is a particular version largely pre-configured of a BartPE.

An alternative is LiveXP, you may want to start with amalux's "simplified" and "frozen" builds:
