Hi,

I have just reformatted my Samsung laptop with the CD provided when i purchased due to some issues. But after it reformatted successfully, the desktop seems so wrong.

Firstly, the screen resolution is wrong. Too wide. It wasn't the same as the previous version which was just nice. I tried changing it to others but it is way too big (e.g. 800x600).

Secondly, I can't connect to the internet. No networks are shown. Thinking maybe I did not set up, so I went to set up. As expected, it still can't work. Now I have no laptop to ask and have to use my phone. How pathetic is that?

Thirdly, I have not found the third issue.

I am trying to reformat again but it seems to be the same to me. Is there anyone that can help me with it?

it seems like you dont have the drivers installed for the display and network. they may be on the disc you used to install but installed seperately.

check device manager to see what it says about those devices.

Hi, thanks for replying.

And can u explain more in details? I am seriously a computer noob. The display adapter is standard vga graphics adapter and the network adapter is only bluetooth device.

I checked my CD and there is quite a number of folders around 5. Is there any specific naming that I should look for?

yep, needs the drivers installed. Im no very experienced with w7 myself or that good at explaining things either but I would search on how to install display drivers in windows 7 and you will probably find good instructions.

basically though.. right click on the vga adaptor and then click update and then browse to those folders and when you get the right one it will load them automatically. same for network.

browse the folders for a folder named drivers or software but it could be named something else also.

I have done that.. But I still have no idea how to solve my problem on the internet issue. The network adapter only shows bluetooth device.. And I do not know which spec I'm using..

Open device manager.

http://pcsupport.abo...r-windows-7.htm

http://en.wikipedia..../Device_Manager

Do you see any item with either a "? question mark" or an "! exclamation mark"?

Is the network adapter "enabled"?

See:

http://www8.hp.com/u...ct-network.html

Some laptop manufacturers add a "physical" button on the pc to switch on/of the network adapter and/or provide a "custom" program to do the same.

Apparently un-related, did the laptop come with OS pre-installed?
