Hello everyone. I've been a reader for a while but now I need some advice. Thanks to the admins/moderators for this forum!

I've been working on a live/pe solution. The usage scenario is that a end user of my GA-X79-UP4 based machines has had some sort of catastrophic problem (rendering the standard/installed OS and/or drive unusable) and therefore needs remote technical support to asses the problems and apply fixes if possible.

I have been marginally successful withe a 32bit WinPE4 solution. (Thanks to reboot.pro member ericgl. his guide that I used: http://reboot.pro/to...e-40-usb-drive/) I currently have a working WinPE4.0 environment with PStart to launch portable apps. I built it with Windows ADK for windows 8 and cmd. Pstart is automatically launched by editing the StartNet.cmd file (windows\system32)  with "call %w%:PStart\PStart.exe"
This has worked really well and loads reasonably fast.

The requirements of this solution are:
[my current status]
[Check]    compatible with X79 chip-set and AHCI and USB3 (this may rule out winXP solutions, i don't know)
[Check]    automatically connects to wired network and internet
[Check]    automatically boots to a windows environment with no user interaction
[Fail.]       automatically launches teamviewer (ive read about various versions working and others working)
[Check]    programs launchable by gui (in my case this has been done with pstart)
[Check]    macrium reflect fully works
[Check]    aomei partition assistant fully works
[Fail.]       Malwarebytes Anti-Malware fully works

Now that you have my background info and know what I'm trying to accomplish, my simple question is, can you simply point me in the right direction (link to a guide, maybe) of the solution that you recommend for the requirements listed above?

If your answer is "keep working on your winPE4.0 build" then we can have the conversation in another forum thread about the current Teamviewer solutions available and fixing other applications. I'd like this thread to only be about the "live" environment you recommend.

To recap what I'm asking:
What is your recommendation for the easiest-to-setup "live" environment that accomplishes the stated requirements?

BIG THANKS for your help guys. I really appreciate it.

The issue is about the version of Teamiewer.

http://reboot.pro/to...ss-to-a-win-pe/

al-jo posted in th eabove that he has a working project (7 based) with *some* version of TeamViewer actually working.

For a number of reasons that are irrelevant here, al-jo has always issues with hosting projects and keeps *bouncing* them projects here and there

This one seems working now:

http://aljo.comeze.c...in7PEguide.html

but have NO idea if it  contains Teamviewer and/or if the corresponding Windows 8 based project, currently here:

http://aljo.comeze.c...in8PEguide.html

actually has it, but they would be first thing I would try, if I were you.

I've already read through the thread you linked to. The lack of, um, clarity, i guess, in the solution was making me hope that there was some update on integrating teamviewer.

I've skimmed the aljo guides before, and they looked like they just created stock/vanilla builds. But now I see that the critically important add-on package (that perhaps makes teamvewer magically work) is behind a broken link.

But you think WinPE from Win7 is the way to go?

Scripts for Teamviewer, MacriumReflect, MBAM and Aomei (the installer)

are included (and working) in this win7pe package.

Please use this source.

But you think WinPE from Win7 is the way to go?

I don't think that there is anything "specific" to a Win 7 PE build that makes it have an advantage (for running Teamiewer) over a Windows 8 build.

The difference is that there is a (reliable) report that on the win 7 PE a version of Teamviewer works and that it does exist a script for it.

You have nothing to loose (if not some bandwidth while you take a good stroll outside and/or read a book/take a coffe) in getting those two projects and checking if in them there is that .script.

On the other hand there won't be that much changes from a Win 7PE build to a Win8 one (at the level of all integration at least), so if you manage to find a Teamviewer .script, *any* of them, it will be a good source for adding the thingy yourself to your current build, the only thing that I wanted to stress was that only some (older) versions of Teamviewer are seemingly possible to be added (or at least noone posted about success with newer versions).

The above mentioned scripts is also tested, working and included in this win8pe package:

Please use the Windows 8 Enterprise (32bit) trial as source:

al-jo,

can you explicit which exact version of Teamviewer is included in your nice projects?

Version 6, right?

and version 6.0.10511 (or a later one)?

Wonko
