No, it's news to me, but point is on which OS does it apply?
IF 7, then I find the direct patch a "simpler" way:

There is a known patching tool, based on the work of Geoff Chapel above, that I won't link to directly , but that you may be able to find, I posted a couple screenshots here:
http://reboot.pro/to...drive/?p=151100
which seemingly works alright on most hardware (though there have been "vague" issues with USB connected webcams and Skype).

I have tried the above patch by saferbytes also one by unawave and i'm currently running with the above patch highlighted by Wonko.
All three give the same results which are:
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00GB (4.00GB usable)
as opposed to the standard Win7 32bit offering of:
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00GB (3.50GB usable)
all confirmed in resource monitor.
I have checked remap in bios = Enabled and tried both pnp options (let bios or let os) to no avail.
Ive reset cmos, same result
My motherboard is the asus p7p55d le with i5 Lynnfield and latest firmware
Any ideas greatly appreciated to release those other 4gb

Problem resolved:
System info in BIOS was reporting 4Gb usable
Removed, interchanged and reseated the memory pairs (4*2gb)
Started up ,pressed and held Mem Ok button (optimizes memory) , opened Bios, Sys info now reports 8gb, F10'd saved and exited.
Now OK.
8gb useable

P.S dont forget if youve set your pagefile to a fixed size change it for your old useable Ram or let Windows decide:
