WAREZ? Who said anything 'bout Warez? I've some software on a trial basis and, if and when I decide I like 'em, I will rightly buy a license. I'm an ardent and unconditional supporter of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act et al. In a prominent place at home I keep a copy of the Bible and one of the DMCA!

BTW, my wife is a card-holding member of the DMCA.

I said it.

Hiren's Boot CD is WAREZ.

BTW this page:

http://www.rmprepusb.../tutorials/hbcd

states (curiously):

Hiren's Boot CD (HBCD) is a heavily modified and illegal version of Microsoft Windows XP. However, it is very prevalent on the internet and the ISO file can be easily downloaded. If you have a licence to run Windows XP on your computer (e.g. if your computer has a Windows XP, Windows Vista Business or Ultimate or Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate Certificate Of Authenticity label on it) then you can legally run XP (but only on that computer - but not dual boot!).

Hiren's Boot CD 13.2 and later versions even includes RMPrepUSB v2.1.620, even though no permission was asked and the software is copyrighted and distribution is forbidden! However, in this case I will regard it as a form of flattery!

When you redistribute something without pemission you are distributing WAREZ.

They are not "trial" they are unauthorised distribution.

Wonko

Well, that is a good way to learn a new language, the other way:

being a no-no , for the known reasons ;).

Hadn't seen this. Will not happen again. Thanks!!!

We DO NOT like WAREZ.
We DO NOT help people add WAREZ to their multiboot whatever.
We DO NOT make available .scripts that support WAREZ.
We DO NOT in any way encourage or support the use of WAREZ, not even indirectly.

Well that is OUTDATED info, if you consider them as "official" or board related, they are still valid if related to Wonko (the Sane).

The new one is having the "policies" of Amnesty International (that do obviusly prohibit WAREZ) BUT interpreted in a *casual* way.

Hiren's is not only tolerated, is also actively recommended (for reasons that make no sense whatever and that are highly discriminatory against the other good WAREZ compilation around), see more here:

Well, Wonko. You've made me an honest person and I went back to ... regular Hiren's? Any way, the only thing that attracted me to the DLC version was the Mini Win7 and the menus with back images. Solved the Mini Win7 issue; still working on the other. Thanks a bunch!!! :punk:
