I have succesfully created a USB drive multiboot. But I cant figure out how to make an iso of it. So I started playing around with the iso function of xboot. I can create an iso by redoing the process I did to create the usb but it uses the syslinux loader instead of grub and there is not an option in creation to select. I dont have a problem with syslinux menu but my ghost iso's wont load from the syslinux menu for some reason and it work fine on the usb from the grub menu.

My idea is to use a dvdrw disk and edit it after I create the iso in xboot. Copy the menu.lst over....but Im not sure how to change the bootloader to grub instead of syslinux..

Any ideas

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Does the *whatever* iso you made (with *whatever* tools) boot to Isolinux? (No, there is NO syslinux in a .bootable .iso, it is Isolinux instead)

If yes, you need to know how grub.exe is (besides a DOS executable) also a Linux kernel (and as such loadable from Isolunyx/Syslinux)

Additionally gldrr is loadable through chain.c32.

Check the grub4dos guide:

http://diddy.boot-la...os/Grub4dos.htm

http://diddy.boot-la...inux.htm#linux1

and these:

http://reboot.pro/to...torial/?p=72128

http://reboot.pro/to...inc32-syslinux/

Isolinux and Syslinux share the same menu (.cfg) settings, as you can see in the above, there might be the need to "tweak" the settings to allow grub4dos to find the menu.lst on CD/DVD.

You might need this:

http://reboot.pro/to...code-converter/

to convert some of the botched CODE boxes...

Hello, Thanks for the response. I used Xboot to create my iso and bootable USB, I have on both of them clonezilla, and 3 different Ghost iso's for different network cards.

I had to manually modify the menu.lst for the ghost iso's to boot or they would just load to the grub prompt , I also had to install the grub boot loader instead of syslinux. Which is exactly what the cd's are doing now when I rip them from the iso that I created with xboot

@redrider: I'm sorry but I don't unterstand how you solved this problem?! I have the same issue: I have a perfect solution when using a bootable USB+GRUB - however GRUB isn't supported by XBOOT when creating CD/DVD .iso's. :( So how can I use my GRUB-version with a CD/DVD media?

Thanks in advance!
