Hi everyone,

I am using Getbackdata portable version I made using thinstall. It works fine in regular OS XP & Windows 7. After I click the .exe using ppaps I get an error:

"Unable to load DLL X:\Program Files\Runtime Software\GetDataBack\gbnt.exe->wow32.dll
The specified module could not be found"

It is as if it is expecting it to be installed in "\Program Files". Is it possible I am building incorrectly with thinstall or maybe this is one of those apps that must be installed with a script to LiveXP_Wim.iso? I am not real familiar with ppAps other than basic but I have seen some with command files in the app folder. I am assuming for more complicated portable apps. Any ideas?

try to add that dll to your portable app or add it to your build. I do not know exactly but in win7pe there is a module to add files that were needed by some scripts

I believe you'll also need ntvdm.exe alongside your wow32.dll and the runtime exe(s). Generally, if there are additional reg and/or batch files alongside the portable exe, they are only needed in PE. This is to allow a fully portable exe which can launch in PE or Windows but in PE adds additional features such as file association and context menus etc.
