Sorry to contradict:Multipe project can do it somewhat.
multiPE can build a win8 project practically.
But there are still some issues which make the PE fail on boot.

And this doesn't mean "practically" that there is not a multiPE based project that can boot?
(I thought that the "base" idea behind a PE was that of actually booting )
An UNbootable boot CD or USB build is something that may become object of collection, but I doubt that it has any use "practically".

Sure , no hurry whatsoever, but the post by halikus
till today seems like being very accurate (notwithstanding the "contradicting by saying the same thing" ).Multipe project can do it somewhat.

The version of Multi_winpe before .58 that you made specifically for Win8 before you tried to make it an all in one worked for me. It boots and is fine, its just i fixed the taskbar by adding a Win7 x86 explorer.exe, wrp32.dll, en-USexplorer.exe.mui, and en-US shell32.dll.mui in X:Windows, and added Explorer++ as my explorer by making an addon. Your version has a useless taskbar and no start menu.

I studied some Chinese WinPE i found and that is how he got around the explorer problem. I think it will be extremely difficult to add the native Win8 explorer. My boot.wim is 240 meg with things like Acronis 2013 and Opera installed.
The other good news is that i can run the Win7 boot repair (recenv.exe) by overwriting the Win8 ones with Win7 ones, and the same with the Win7 setup.exe install files..
So Wonko, it boots, but i did some things to it to make it more usefull. Im just guessing, but to add control panel, native explorer, etc, if possible, will make it tremendously larger due to picky dependancies.

Sure , there are other builds that also work, I was simply pointing out how Peter's statement was contradicting itself. So Wonko, it boots, but i did some things to it to make it more usefull. I didn't include any tools, but kept the directory structure i used. I had it on D:. You will need the waik files, the tools in projects, a Windows 8 RTM x86 pro iso, and if you want, the explorer files from Win7 Ultimate SP1 x86.

Unfortunately, none is help me here. Then I've created myself a German version from a Win8 x86 Professional Final base. I have a x64 Edition can use.
Include RStudio 6.1 German (registered), Opera 12.12, Explorer++ 1.5 German, Classic Start Menu 3.5.1 German and many more. Check it out
Did you also manage to get permission from MS ( and from RTT) to distribute their software?

@Wonnepropen
I'm trying to create a bootable USB stick containing Windows RT, so any information regarding the files (file names in particular) that you used to create your Win 8 Pro version would be appreciated. Unfortunately, at the moment, I can only use the stock Win 8 RT file set due to the ARM CPU and signed code enforcement.
Thanks,
Colin.
