I notice today there is a floating Google + thing on the lower right of my screen on every page. I checked my account settings and I did not see an option to disable this. For me, at least, it covers up some buttons while replying to a topic. While I do have a Google account, I never actually use Google + or every +1 anything, so an option to disable that in the profile would be handy.

Hmm.. I was testing this today to see if it brought back any +1 on google. It is now disabled.

I see advantages on using +1 from google, it helps to raise awareness and place the site on google search results. However, this doesn't seem a good way to get people using it. Oh well.. back to the sketch board.

Maybe it can be a button on the same line as the "Like This" button?

Good suggestion. I've sent a message to one of the developers at invisionpower.com

Let's see if this feature can become available.

Actually, I see there is already a Google + button at the bottom of the topic. With a twitter, print and download button.
