File Submitted: 21 Jun 2012
File Updated: 09 Dec 2013
File Category: App scripts

AOMEI Partition Assistant Homepage: http://www.extend-pa....com/index.html

The Professional Edition is not freeware, you need a valid license code!

Compared to the free Home Edition, the Professional Edition as a few interesting additions, see: http://www.extend-pa...re-edition.html

This script is tested in Win7PESE/Win8PESE and works in x86 builds and in x64 builds

Download the script from here: http://www.mediafire.../PartAssist.zip

Dear fuwi,

Could you share your experience regarding this software with us. I am very interested in its features, but I don't know if it is reliable enough (actually I have never heard about AOMEI).

Best regards,

Aeolis

hi Aeolis

One nice feature of AOMEI Partition Assistant is the 'Convert to GPT' function.
If you have a fully partitioned (MBR-style) disk with data, you can convert it to GPT without data loss (also from GPT back to MBR).
In MS Win7 Diskmanager it's only possible to convert a MBR disk to GPT if the disk has no partitions.

Onother nice feature is 'Allocate Free Space'. E.g. if you have a too small C: partition, and a D: partition, that is too large, rightclick in C:,
select 'Allocate Free Space', enter how much you wish to enlarge C: (and shrink D:) and AOMEI Partition Assistant makes that in one step.

Partition Alignment is important if you are using SSD's or Advanced Format disks with e.g. 4KB physical sector sizes.

I have tested 'Convert to GPT' and 'Allocate Free Space' on a test disk with test-data, it seems to be reliable.

Thank you, fuwi, it's a very good partitioner!

I've got two problems:

  • I need it for ChrisR's Win8PESE x86, too. There seems to be an issue, see screenshot.
(Just haven't had the time to analyse this further...)
  • Could you update the script to v5.5? Would be cool!

Hi Mikka

Enable Visual C++ script (all) in your build and most probably "Partition Assist" will work. Personally i prefer "Partition Wizard". It's free edition includes almost all functions of "Partition Assistant Pro" except the dynamic to basic conversion support.

Hi Mikka

I have updated the script a little bit, it works now in Win8PESE too (see post #1).

It's still v5.1, because the 5.1 license key doesn't work with v5.5.

If you still have side-by-side errors then enable the Visual C++ script as Agent47 has written in post #6.

BTW: the latest version of the Visual C++ script here: http://w8pese.spam.net/projectindex.php (in Components)

fuwi, thank you for the new version, now it works fine!

Agent47: Maybe part of the error was due to a "narrow" configuration of the vc++ script.

It did not cause error(s) for Win7PESE, I'll keep it in mind, though.
