I've successfully made a multiboot USB drive with Hiren's Boot 15.1, an all-in-one Windows 7 Setup and Kaspersky Rescue Disk (KRD) 10 ver 10.0.31.4 (download from here: http://support.kaspe...cuedisk?level=2) after reading some topics on our forum. But I have a problem with booting KRD on my laptop. Whenever I choose to boot KRD, it hangs! The sequence is: choose KRD from menu --> a timeout menu appear --> then choosing language --> then EULA appears --> accept, select to boot in to graphical mode of KRD --> a progress bar appears, it loads completely --> a black screen with a command prompt appears, the prompt blinks 4 or 5 times and... the whole system hangs .
I tried to boot my USB drive on a netbook. It worked normally, KRD loaded successfully without any errors or delays. I thought "maybe my laptop is not compatible with KRD", so I made a dedicated Kaspersky USB Rescue Disk on another USB drive (using this tool: http://rescuedisk.ka.../rescue2usb.exe). And... my laptop can boot from this dedicated Kaspersky USB Rescue Disk, no errors, no delays :-/.
I don't know what's the problem here is. It's not the compatibility between my laptop and KRD (because my laptop can boot from a dedicated KRD, it only hangs when booting KRD through Grub4Dos). It's also not the configuations in menu.lst file (because I can boot KRD on another netbook from that USB drive with the same configurations). I'm really confused about this. Hope you guys can help me and give me advice or guide for this issue .
By the way, here's is a part of menu.lst on my USB drive for KRD:
(I have 3 options here, and none of them work on my laptop, but all of them work on another netbook)
title Kaspersky Rescue Disk (1)
find --set-root --ignore-cd /rescue/rescueusb.iso
map /rescue/rescueusb.iso (0xff) || map --mem /rescue/rescueusb.iso (0xff)
title Kaspersky Rescue Disk (2)
map (hd0,0)/rescue/rescue.iso (0xff) || map --mem (hd0,0)/rescue/rescue.iso (0xff)
title Kaspersky Rescue Disk (3)
map /rescue/rescue.iso (0xff) || map --mem /rescue/rescue.iso (0xff)
