Hi Guys,

First i would like to thank all the people who are here to help others sacrificing there time.

I Have Toshiba satellite A60 which has a dvd drive, but it sometimes read dvd and sometimes not but reads CD's perfectly well. Now i want to install win 7 on it on partition C where XP is. But My Bios does not support Boot from usb, and i have an External USB DVD drive which works ok.

Please can anyone Help me to make my laptop install Win 7 From this USB DVD Drive. Please can someone give me steps. Or is there a cd which can direct my laptop to read from usb dvd drive.

Thanking all in Advance

Most do support USb booting of DVD or USB HDD or USB Flash drive. Have you enabled boot from USB in the BIOS and set the boot order to boot from USB first?
Do you have a USb Flash drive ?

My Laptop does not have boot from USB in The Bios. Supports only Boot from FDD, CD-ROM and HDD. Am wondering why FDD and it does not have FDD

Insert USb DVD
Switch on system (watch to see if it enumerates the USB DVD drive)
Go into BIOS menu
Look for USB settings or boot settings

Boot priority Is FDD-CD-ROM-LAN-HDD

And there is another place Legacy Emulation and

USB KB/Mouse Legacy Emulation = Enabled

USB-FDD Legacy Emulation = Enabled
