Designed for your Windows computer, TurboPC includes two components to enhance file transfer performance with external hard drives. Utilizing the high speed RAM of your PC, TurboPC can increase file transfers by up to 2x over standard external hard drive connections, including USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. TurboPC also includes TurboCopy which provides additional system adjustments to increase performance substantially. Kind regards :hi:

Not really new and not exclusive to Buffalo.
What's still missing is a software, that's not bundled with a specific hardware.

Wonko and i played with it already 2 years ago. But we couldn't figure out, if the turbo requires special hardware or not.

Yes, if you want install this software, you will need an buffalo external disk. Because the both software also comes with an buffalo external disk. Do you know the other is a software running on the logic of this software ? Best regards :hi:

Hi my friend ;)

Do you know the logic of these programs work ? If the answer to my question is yes, have other programs similar to these programs ? Buffalo external disk dongle acts like. So these programs can not be established for each computer without buffalo external disk. Best regards :hi:

At the the time a found alternative (used by many other manufacturers) was Fnet's TurboHDD, still they are "manufacturer/make specific", examples:

There were a bunch of different manufacturers, offering a turbo for their USB-HDD one even offered a turbo for a USB-Stick.
All those softwares were keyed to work only with the manaufacturers hardware.

We managed to get our hands on a few of those softwares, but weren't able to test any.
So we're still not sure how exactly they work.

If they only improve the size of the cache, they definitly not worth anything, as the copy action only appears to be faster, while the throughput of the port is not really changed.

The fact however, that own drivers are used suggests, that they maybe fiddled with the transfer protocols.

However, without being able to really test this feature on a variety of different USB devices, this is all pure speculation.

Hi MedEvil ;)
Good explanation, thanks. But I still do not get the answer to my question. Do not have a free or shaware program that provides this feature, what you say ? Best regards :hi:

No, at the time we weren't able to find any.
If - as it is very probable - cdob is right :worship: and the "difference" is in transfer mode provided by driver, something worth to explore could be:
