When building the standard project from W2003 source the WinSxS files are missing. :P

I tried to unpack ASMS01.CAB manually from a cmd window and got the result:

Using the 7-zip file manager it worked.

What to do? :P

BTW the Copy&Expand script needs qoutes around the 7z.exe command :P
ShellExecute,"hide","%baseDir%\Tools\7z.exe","X -y -o#$q%TargetDir%\i386\WinSxS#$q #$q%SourceDir%\I386\asms01.cab#$q"
has to be
ShellExecute,"hide","#$q%baseDir%\Tools\7z.exe#$q","X -y -o#$q%TargetDir%\i386\WinSxS#$q #$q%SourceDir%\I386\asms01.cab#$q"

Yes, it's also NOT FREE.
I had this problem in the past, when OpenBuilder used an old version of 7-zip, called "7za.exe".
At the time, 7za.exe did not support cab archives, and I emailed Nuno and sent him a "7z.exe" that could support cab archives. Maybe the problem has come back to haunt us...

Actually 7z.exe is included with winbuilder in the tools directory. It does not however support cab files.

I have created a standalone version of 7za.exe, version 4.42, which supports extraction of cab files as well as its normal file support. It downloadable from www.paraglidernc.com/plugins/7za.zip

You should PM Nuno with this version. If it helps in fixing the extraction why not use this version. :P

I have to report the same thing as psc. When renaming paraglider 7za.exe to replace the 7z.exe in the Tools folder I get a good build using the Windows Server 2003 R2 Trial with SP1.

Ha!ha!ha! It didnt accour to me to do that untill I heard from psc that it worked for him. :P :P

I'm still getting the endless reboots, do I have to change a script or something?

Not really, I just renamed 7za.exe to 7z.exe and it works for me as well..

btw: I'm using smiley's improved copy and expand script - you can find it on the development forum or use the one from http://upload.boot-land.net/WinBuilder

:P

Try updating all the scripts to the latest. Its best to do the update manually at this time.
I had trouble when i did the auto updates.

downloadable from www.paraglidernc.com/plugins/7za.zip

Download this file and rename the 7za.exe inside to 7z.exe.

Then put that 7z.exe to your Winbuilder\Tools
Directory replacing the
7z.exe 51KB to the new one 7z-.exe 447KB

It should not give you any more reboots.

I only copied z7a into the tools directory and changed in the copy&expand script the corresponding command from z7 to z7a.

Check whether some of the winsxs target directories contain something. if yes, the issue has a different reason.
