I'm basically trying to make this screen more "retarded" proof so to say. A family member looooves to watch movies online and something always happens to his OS, no wonder why. Long story short i'm trying to customize the windows recovery/install screen with my own background that way i need have it with notes etc.
The screen that i'm talking about is the one below:

I want to resize it and zoom in on this part of the screen:

I'm pretty new to all of this and not sure how to proceed with this. The closest i was able to find is here:

I'll be thankful for any input.

i think you will break digital signatures editing that file. I would personally make a custom autoit gui that selects the same files used by the MS gui. ie: sourcessetup.exe, recenv.exe, etc

Thank you for the link. at first it looked that it might work but now i'm stuck. I don't have exe files in the sources folder. I only have one file there "boot.wim"
Any help?

That folder is a relative path to the root folder inside boot.wim (when mounted). That link you gave is certainly dealing with modifications, but I don't think that thread is the way to go, because of all the complex stuff..

Thank you for your replay, how would you suggest I approach this?

2 options;
  • Modify existing executable.
  • Create your own executable, as substitute for existing one..
