hi all
i used to use WinSetup-1-0-beta7.7z to make abootable usb to install xp sp3,mini xp,hirens boot and norton ghost
every thing was ok
but Suddenly i met a ridiculous error
when i boot from usb it take me to the normal screen which we choose windows setup
after this 2 options appear as usual which (booting first part ... from partiton 0 - booting Second part ... from partiton 1)
when i choose option 1
i found this error

XPpSP3.ISOAddress 0x8280: Value 0x80
2 (HEX :0x2)
2 (HEX :0x2)
2 (HEX :0x2)
2 (HEX :0x2)
2 (HEX :0x2)
2 (HEX :0x2)
2 (HEX :0x2)
checkrange 2 calc *0x475 & 0xFF
error 15: file not found
press any key to continue ...

the strange thing i didnt change any configration and i was able to boot from the same copy of xp and with the same config

i try to make mini xp bootable usb every thing is ok
and i try to format my usb with several programs like Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool and HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool .... and i try to chnge config from bootice in WinSetup but nothing changed
i still find this error with this copy of xp

Is this a USB Flash drive? if so, try testing it with RMPrepUSB Quick test (destructive) or H2TESTW.
take an MD5 hash of the ISO on the USB drive and compare it with the MD5 of the ISO on the hard drive.

Run RMPrepUSB and then click on the Quick Size Test button - this will check the size of the flash drive.

Inside the BOOTWS folder there should be 2.lst....3.lst....4.lst and so on up to 8.lst. The checkrange your speaking of is returning a 2 value which would load from /BOOTWS/2.lst, if that folder or .lst is missing would explain your error.

Look inside your WinSetup-1-0-beta7filesgrub4dosBOOTWS folder and recopy all the .lst files back into the BOOTWS folder on your USB stick

You have a cheap/fake flash drive or it has faulty memory. So if you fill it up more than 3GB it will corrupt files already on it.
See www.rmprepusb.com/tutorials/-fake-usb-flash-memory-drives for details.
To confirm this, format the whole drive using Windows so it is empty and then download and run H2TESTW (run RMPrepUSB Help (F1) and you will see the link to download H2TESTW).
That explains why you are seeing issues when you almost fill the USB drive, but why it is OK if you have a smaller payload of files.
HDD Regenerator tests for bad (unreadable) sectors - usually the problem is that a 2GB memory chip is mapped twice, however in your case it seems you have 3GB correctly mapped but 1 GB is not mapped correctly.

Did you format the stick as FAT32 or NTFS. If FAT32 then it should be OK until you fill it 3/4 full. If NTFS, it could start using the corrupt part earlier than this as the NTFS filesystem starts around 1/3 of the way in.
Either way you have a bad drive! Either format it as 2.8GB or don't use it at all!
