I am new to MultiPE and Winbuilder. I have been working with it recently and I seem to be having the same issue that piggos was having at first.
My machine is Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. I am using an extracted Windows 7 Professional x86 ISO that I downloaded from MSDN.
I do have the latest version winbuilder 083 and MultiPE36.
I've opened the program as administrator and downloaded all the new scripts as was suggested. Then Select my source and press play.
I get the first general error about it being Windows 7 and restart it and it runs smooth.
After that, I go to create image>create USB flash drive and scan for drives and select the drive letter.
I then go to PEFactory>PEFactory and select No Target Creation, but the target result and other comboboxes disappear.
So I instead choose single boot and then select the Target Result to Create USB and click Process.
Everytime I get the Information Message "You choosed building UDF, but no UDF is defined".
Ive tried it several different times, starting from scratch each time to be sure, and Ive read this entire thread over.
I appreciate any help you can give me, and let me know if you need anymore information. Thanks A Lot!

Ok! Thanks!Imdisk is only needed when you want to have a RAM Boot Image.
Factory settings is "No Image". Therefore you do not need ImDisk.

I know that issue, but I think that I have fixed it.Everytime I get the Information Message "You choosed building UDF, but no UDF is defined".
Can you use the WinBuilder download center to check the files with the "certificate" or "md5" option?.
I'm going to try to reproduce your procedere.

I could reprocuce your issue.I am new to MultiPE and Winbuilder.
I installed Vista x64 into a fresh formatted partition.
(I do not have Win7 x64 and would never install Win7 on one of my systems)
There was no WAIK. I used WimCaptEx.
I got the issue like you described.
There was a bug in host OS detecting which now (hopefully) is fixed.
I uploaded version 37 which contains this fix.
Simultaneously I changed the name of the reboot.pro WIM tool to (hopefully final) "reWIM".
@Hektik: Many thanks for your qualified report.

- SplitBinEx work around a logical bug in "Common"_API, which reads WinBuilder internal undocumented / unpublished data about encoded files hardcoded, rather than to use WinBuilder functions.

I also followed the first steps you have listed here: http://multipe.exec-...iPE/StartUp.htm.
There are no errors in the log regarding extraction of files. Only errors about not being able to detect the source type since wiminfo.exe cannot be found.

The issue is new for me, and i'm going to reproduce (tomorrow, now it is evening local time).
It needs some time to install W7 x64 host locally and test your "unsuccess".
BTW: Do you use an original "Billy the Door" CD or is it "lightened"?

- By SplitBinEx experiments the structure of the Win7 and Vista track have been corrupted. That is fixed now.

Also I would like to ask, is the win8 track buildable? It runs for a while but then gets an error that WimExtractXml.exe can't run because the file api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-1-1.dll was not found. I cannot find that file in either of the two folders created in the storedwims folder. The file is in the source boot.wim image on the disc.
Here is the log file indicating several files that failed to copy because they don't exist in the storedwim folder.

To test I used the basic scripts of the Win7 track.
The test worked. A target was built just by defining a Win8.
Currently I do not intend to bring the Win8 track to a working PE.
I'll think about that when Win8 is released.
But interested members are invited to make their own version. I'll include every reasonable solution in the multiPE project.

I appreciate!Ok, I will experiment on my own a bit then. Which script is responsible for extracting the wim contents to the storedwim folder?
Script is Core > 1 - Core Basics > WimToolsEx.
Standard is that the project uses the "fastest" (auto) way. But you can change to your own choice.

Downloaded fresh MultiPE and updated it. Runing on Win 7 Sp1 (x64) with a Win XP SP2 (x86) source.
Selected AutoIt support and got this:
FileCopy - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%ProjectsToolsnativeExx86AutoIt3.exe] to: [%BaseDir%TargetmultiPE_XPI386System32AutoIt3.exe]: The system cannot find the file specified.
I have attached a log.
EDIT: %BaseDir%ProjectsToolsnativeExx86AutoIt3_x86.exe is present. Your script is looking for %BaseDir%ProjectsToolsnativeExx86AutoIt3.exe?

My fault in upload, sorry!Hi Peter,

For a quick fix, rename %BaseDir%ProjectsToolsnativeExx86AutoIt3_x86.exe to AutoIt3.exe
The issue will be fixed in the next upload.

Would you mind sharing the source code for this file?
What are the requirements for running wimcaptex? I tried running it outside the project using "wimcaptex.exe -A:A -W:F:sourcesboot.wim -I:2 -D:CMultiPE42WorkbenchStoredWimsWn84B2en0628400 -P -T:C:MultiPE42TempmultiPE_Win8" at the comand line but it gives me error 10: error applying image.

WimCaptEx needs wimgapi.dll in it's directory. It is not taken from system32, because the used wimgapi.dll may have a different version than the installed one. In the multiPE project, wimgapi.dll is copied by the %BaseDir%ProjectsmultiPECore1 - Core Basics3-ManageWims.script.
To explore the abilities of WimCaptEx, make a build of a Vista or Win7 track (please avoid source CD Win7 SP1, it needs soooo long time).
Before build, in the project tree > Core > 1 - Core Basics > WimToolsEx, set Open *.WIM and Create *.WIM to WimCaptEx.
Then watch the build time and inspect the log.

What's New in Version 43
- Finished BootTasks.Script, which handles some action at boot time, like screen resolution, keyboard layout.
- Added LocalisationEx.script: adding optionally host's keyboard layout, international settings, and / or time zone to build.
Also tagged with one or more of these keywords: win7pe, vistape, multiboot, pe3, livecd, pe2, pe1
