Cyphertext is incomprehensible. We decipher it in order to get the underlying message. Right? But, can we be sure that even after deciphering the crypto, we'll be able to get the meaning. At least, I can't. Then it is a pain itself. Believe me friends.

Try the challenge here.

I found "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetuer" in some of the deciphered code. I recognized it as Vigenére Cipher. By google this appears in Microsoft Word online Help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/114222

I'm not sure what it means though. Something else I discovered: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Lorem_ipsum

The deciphered plain text was originally detected as latin from google translate.

If I may, this is not solving a cryptographic challenge of some kind, this is a test for google-fu.

I would have thought that challenges were ALL original. :frusty:

Was it (I mean, the *originality*) ever claimed anywhere? If you need to test you google-fu & analysis skill, reply on the thread that I've started a couple of minutes back. :loleverybody:

No, I actually assumed )or rather "expected") it, thinking you were in your right mind.

You might notice the form "I would have thought".

Using other people's work without citing the source is in my perverted mind one of the more serious breakings of netiquette. :(

Of course you could not cite the source, otherwise it would have been too easy, a good reason to produce original material.

I've that much of guts in me to cite the source & let people know that they have solves/tried a CTF challenge, but only after a few days when a decent number of people would have already taken the challenge. My idea was to let people practice a real CTF challenge & decide how easy/difficult it is. Anyway, happy to see your google-fu is still with you. This will help "me" in future. :loleverybody: :loleverybody: :loleverybody:

Yes that's the reason a few days back I requested all to use their real usernames instead of using "x" or "sdf" or "**ck*f*" or "pe**s".
