Hey,

Just wondering what program I can use to create a decent boot screen image. Have tried paint.net and gimp, but when making the image 16 color it is really crappy. Have used lancelot boot screen pack, how do you guys get clear images?

Cheers

This is not a question of just finding the right program. This is a question of knowing, how to finetune the conversion process. Usually involving some manual editing of the color palette.

I tryed a few times too. Then decided to stick to premade pictures. ;)

Well, the problem usually lies on the "base" images.
Just like with "traditional" grub4dos backgorund images (limited to 14 colours) the "reduce colours" of the gimp worked mostly allright, but you have anyway to choose an image with either a "great" contrast or with very little one.
