Apologies for the description... Really tested in: Win7PE_SE

All happened by the excitement of publishing my first script.

No, thank you for being in development!

I really like this kind of open source development, and at the same time, centralized in one place.

Does this script work for everybody else? 4.6 that is.
It strangely downloaded the app fine, it just doesn't copy it into the Targetfolder.
There are also no shortcuts created. ;)

The main problem seems to be, that the downloaded archive does not get unpacked. Though the reason for that is unclear.

Hi MedEvil! Sorry for the delay.

Could you tell me which version of WinBuilder you are using? And what is the project that you are using this script?

I couldn't find errors in the script. Lately I have fully tested on Win7PE_SE and WinBuilder v0.82.

The reason why the extracted folder doesn´t exist: it is deleted after copying the files to save disk space. It is also deleted after configure the application, saves only the files containing the settings you have chosen.

Greetings! and please let me know if it keeps repeating....

u2o, i use WB080b3 and i also couldn't find anything wrong with the script.
Everything looks fine, the log shows that each line is executed successfully, like it should. However in my PE, i get only the config files and the language folder. Not sure if there were also language files.

The project i use, is the latest version of Win7PESE.

I have also tried, without configure anything, deleting temporary files (which are handled by the script) that are in the folder "Win7_PE_SE\Workbench\Common\FastStone_Image_Viewer", and then I start the process and works well.

Sincerely ... I don't see what is bad. Don't get me wrong, obviously something isn't working as it should. Can you show a picture with the settings currently used in the script?

And Can you try disable the AntiVirus before starting the WinBuilder process? Maybe the AntiVirus is slowing the process of copying files ... I have not added, waitings between the processes of copying files

Just in case, please download the lastest script: http://reboot.pro/fi...age-viewer-v46/

Again ... Apologies for the delay... :suda:

The settings are all default, havn't changed a thing. There's also no anti-virus software running in the background. I only use an ondemand scanner.

Will try the new version.

For test, please... try select a language (in the script) and press the config button (in the script). When the app opens, close it. And try again start WinBuilder compilation process....

Sorry forgot to post.
Tested your latest version. Didn't change a thing. Settings end up in PE, program does not.

Will try what you said above. But i already did this once with 4.5 and it didn't help.

Ok, i finally had it with this cross-grained script and took the time to properly check, till i found the problem.
Turns out, i don't understand, how this script ever worked for anyone?

The script checks before copying for the existence of files with:
If,ExistFile,%AppUnpackedFolder%\*.*
This however does not mean, check for existence of any file, but check for existence of file *.*.
Since no such file exists, the operation is aborted.
(Is this a bug or a feature of WB?)

I exchanged the command for:
If,EXISTDIR,%AppUnpackedFolder%
Since folder and files are created by the same process, the effect should be synonymous.

Now the script works, for me.

Found another strange command.
Register_File,%target_sys%\AVIFIL32.DLL,Install
The command Register_File is unknown. But since the path to the dll is given with %target_sys%, the command seems to be intended to run on the host machine and not in the PE.
Why would i overwrite the registration of AVIFIL32.DLL in my system?

By design, WinBuilder's IfExist looks for REAL files only, no Wild Cards.
Therefore, as you saw, '*.*' is treated as file name. Maybe something for release WB 0100 ...

Added note to the docs for that check function, and as it is, it makes sense to me...

Yep, all seemingly fine and dandy, but as Medevil correctly pointed out:

Turns out, i don't understand, how this script ever worked for anyone?

Someone :whistling: said that the .script (without the detailed changes Medevil listed) worked allright for him:

Works fine in nativeEx_multiPE Vista, Win7 and (after uncommenting some XP specific comments) in XP!

Actually I was serious.

Does your project by sheer magic "jump over" bad syntax in .scripts? :w00t:

Or does it interpreter commands "differently" from what the rest of mortals can get?

This:
If,ExistFile,%AppUnpackedFolder%\*.*
is EITHER valid syntax of the Winbuilder engine or it is not.
If it is not ANY and ALL project should NOT copy files properly. :dubbio:

Wonko
