It doesn't work for me - gets to the 'Starting Windows' bit and the graphics logo appears. It then sits here for a while and the USB drive is silent. It then reboots. Non SP1 works.

Non SP1 works.
Help, it's a Dell. That's asking for trouble at USB boot.I'm using a Dell Precision 690 1333MHz FSB, 2 x Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5150 2.66MHz, Quad-Channel 6GB 667MHz DDR FBDIMM, 256MB nVidia Quadro FX3500, a WD 640GB 7200rpm Caviar Black SATAII

Registry settings are documented in Windows Embedded Standard 7
And Windows Embedded distribute special USB drivers.
And read http://reboot.pro/68...post__p__137988
Idea:
Windows 7 gold USB drivers works at almost all machines, except some strange ones.
Windows 7 SP1 USB drivers works at almost all machines, except some more strange ones.
Windows Embedded Standard 7 USB and Windows 8 USB drivers works at more machines.
Try Windows Embedded Standard 7 USB drivers.
I wonder about a Dell machine with preinstalled Windows 8. Let's wait and see.
