Hi Guys
I have managed to get this working great deploying ghost images from some shares, however the final stage is causing me some malady. The last phase of the boot launches a custom script. I have a menu system allowing users to choose which ghost server to build from depending where they are in the country. However the menu system I am using limits me to characters 1-9 and I need more (choice.com choice /C:123456789 etc)I wanted to use Set /p which is a lot easier and would open up different characters aswell however it doesnt work causes the command window to echo the last line before the set /p stuff. Sample of the script below, you 'll get idea, hoping some one knows a better system. Just wish set /p would work.

Thanks for any help!

Where?

IIRC, set /p was introduced with a Windows NT version. Maybe you could benefit from the menu system used in Bart's modular boot-disk?

look instead for a proggie hight 'input.com'. This does what set /p does: reads a variable, and sets it to a value.

Also try rexx.

You can also use a program called EditVar

.. or maybe, since the "final" goal is having a menu system, a "menu system app" :loleverybody::

a *few* more:

or maybe even a GUI one:

a *few* more (if you like to dig in the past):
