ESET Smart Security v126.96.36.199 Portable For Windows PE
Posted 09 March 2011 - 09:48 PM
Sorry it took so long to get released but I had to work out a lot of lil bugs
I only tested the scripts in Winbuilder 080 & VistaPE
It should work in Win7PE too
I don’t know if it will work in XP Based PE’s
I removed viruses at my work for a week on different PC’s without errors before I uploaded this
-Added: Find and Load updates from *.Dat files
-Added: Splash screen wile ESET loads
-Added: Checks for ESET GUI Crash then restarts the GUI
-Added: RAM checking script to see if there is Enough RAM to start ESET
-Improved: ESET processes checking before ESET startup
-Added: Clean the temp files that is generated by *.NUP updates (saves some RAM)
-The “Close ESET” button box now auto hides
-Added: *.ini added to control basic functions incl.:
1. Name your own update directory to be placed on root of drive
2. Choose if ESET scans and remove Unsafe /unwanted files
3. Choose if you want to see the Splash screen or the console screens
The *.ini is mainly used for the *.script
-lots of lil bug fixes
-Download the file here
-Unzip into a normal folder
-Unzip the .script files in any of the project folders
-Point the script in Winbulder to the unzipped folder (to find Eset_4.2.exe, See the Red box 1 in picture below)
Setup Update for ESET:
In the red box marked 3 you can choose the name of the folder where ESET will look for its updates
This folder will be placed on the root of the PE disk
Do NOT type strange characters/spaces in there, just one simple word should work
The name of this folder is important for updating ESET!
If you don’t know what to call it don’t just leave it
Inside this folder you can place ESET *.nup or *.dat Update files
For the PE disk you can use “update folder” (red box 2) to point to where the *.nup/*.dat files are
And the .script will copy it to the update folder on the root of the PE
Note on Updating files:
*.dat updates is recommended for use! It loads faster, less clutter, easier to get your hands on
*.dat files are located in the ESET program folder (see red box below)
*.nup files can be downloaded whit ‘NodView’ or if you have an ESET sever with a mirror folder
When using “Update folder” (red box 2) to point to where the *.nup/*.dat files are, You must make sure there are ONLY *.nup/*.dat files are in the pointed directory or it will copy all the files in there wasting space
Only *32.nup/*32.DAT files needed
*.nup files need a update.ver file too!!
Note: if you want to update from a flash drive
The imbedded program will automatically find the latest updates for ESET on any drive
As long as you put the files in the folder name you gave it(see red box3 above) on the root of the device

I talked to a ESET tec rep in South Africa and he said that its fine as long as i don't redistribute the updates
or ESET EAV codes...
any way im doing ESET a favor by making ESET work on PE systems
if you go and take a look at other ESET .scripts on Reboot.pro you will find that you'd have to manually start the ESET services and it dose not support the update features that i have here ..
im not saying that their is something wrong with the other ESET .script developers scripts, in fact i learned a lot from their scripts...

FYI, tested fine in tinype3 and LiveXP (Winbuilder 078 SP6). For Live XP I had to copy find.exe to the Source Folder.
Sweet i guess my VistaPE already has find.exe in it
I will have to remember to add all the used windows *.exe files to the next build
thanx for the input...

It even detected a little hidden trojan downloader lurking on my harddrive
Thanks for the Portable ESET Smart Security by DarkPhoeniX
I used Winbuilder 082 Beta [Win7PE_SE] with x86 Enterprise Trial as source.
I updated all the files to July 8th, 2011.

this that will take your eset password and put it into the PE registry (up to 20 small caps, caps,or numbers)
This will make it possible for you to update eset from your PE on the internet as soon as you are connected to a VPN or dial-up connection
I have not tested this,so i don't know if the eset activation is going to be a problem....
