Is there a script already existing to add a 'copy folder' from the host machine to the WinFE/PE in which the copied folder would be accessible from a live running machine (not booted to WinFE)? The point being able to add tools to run from a CD for live acquisition. I'm looking, but not yet found it if it exists, would rather not try to reinvent the wheel that someone spent time on already and who probably can do a better job anyway;)

Hi Brett,

Yes, if you look at the scripts of BGInfo, RegShot and Runscanner they all install under your bootdevice root \Programs.

When you boot into WinPE/FE it will be on Y:\Programs. It seems the only time the programs will be linked to X:\ is when you add them to the .wim file (but will be unavailable in the "live side".

I would say for the WinFE project that should be the norm for all programs and tools to be installed under \Programs. This means it should be available in the live side and in the boot side under Y:\Programs.

Hope this helps. We should look at at a templete type of script for placing the tools in the live side...

Regards,
