Thanks Mikorist ( and Nuno), though of course I cannot but attribute at least part of this unexpected paradigm shift to the "Light Blue Ribbon Campaign for Freedom of Skin"
Everything is back where it should be! GREAT!

Visitors and Win7 users will greeted by default with the Darth Vader style while old school gurus can enjoy the 911CD style.
Mikorist is a design genius, now we can have the best of both worlds.

The reasons that justify this decision are founded but somewhat complex to explain. Their cover several perspectives that were identified as goals to reach in our progress for the future.
Some of these reasons are documented at http://goo.gl/OGKOI on the "Design" chapter. Other reasons for this preference are also not public and I prefer to discuss them with you by email to prevent trolls from assaulting this talk.

On a older XP sp3 machine with IE8, things did not look right and i had no idea what you were talking about when you said about making updates or changes...
But
Now using a Win7 x64 with IE8 everything is great
Thanks....

Is there a obvious reason, why you can't choose another skin when you aren't logged in?
There are no obvious reasons to explain this preference.
My Vulcan heritage makes me see at least one obvious reason.
Anyone passing by is "forced" to register and login in order to be able to have the
This way we will have a lot more registered members and a lot less guests.
If you combine this with a few videos, you will see a noticeable increase on Alexa ranking.

Interesting doc. Was it a Course Work project or part of a Thesis?
Icecube
I checked the other skin and reverted to default. No obvious advantages for me. Many ppl prefer to see any website exactly as the author wants it to be seen. I agree that space on the right is better be used by some material. May be it's reserved for more ads?

But I'd like to ask u that -
1) "Was is essential to name this classical theme as 911CD, on the name of a peer forum?" In other words, we could have a generic name instead.
2) Our eyes are trained to view & interpret the theme used in 911CD & old Boot-Land. So, instead of providing an option to use the OLD boot-land theme, why are we being given a choice to use 911CD theme?

Blue Ribbon skin ?
and then generic domain name instead like - blueribbon.com
that goes with the color of my eyes

Neither. My thesis work was a social networks aggregator and a few other projects that might get released one day.Interesting doc. Was it a Course Work project or part of a Thesis?

Perhaps now you understand why I've stopped using cellphones and I'm no longer a big fan of social networks.
That document is part of the initial work to plan, evaluate and track changes. It was written back in August, some details differ from what you see today while others are still in the planning stage.
You know the drill..Anyone passing by is "forced" to register and login in order to be able to have the blue 911CD theme.
This way we will have a lot more registered members and a lot less guests.

Then remove the selection box for guests. Now you can choose between the Vader and the Vader theme. There are no obvious reasons to explain this preference.

Remove the selection box with the language selection list too: "English (USA)".
Offering selection boxes with only one choice doesn't make any sense to me.

As far as I'm concerned, 911CD.net is the mother of all forums related to the development of Windows boot disks. This is a tribute to remember new users that a 911cd.net forum still exists.1) "Was is essential to name this classical theme as 911CD, on the name of a peer forum?" In other words, we could have a generic name instead.
It was no coincidence that I called those who use this style as "old school". Indeed those who were present at 911CD years ago are also frequent visitors around here.
You can use either one you prefer. There are those who are very resistant to any changes in their ecosystem while others will always be on the first line to try out new things.2) Our eyes are trained to view & interpret the theme used in 911CD & old Boot-Land. So, instead of providing an option to use the OLD boot-land theme, why are we being given a choice to use 911CD theme?
Both are important, yet different.

For the record actual experiences on ecosystems didn't work out that well, an example:There are those who are very resistant to any changes in their ecosystem while others will always be on the first line to try out new things.

The whole point is the mixup between evolution (natural selection) and intelligent design.
You managed to invent "forced intelligent design".
Have you noticed how as soon as freedom of skin was restored noone is whining anymore?
I do not doubt in the least that the new theme is "better", cooler and what not (at least in your view), the whole point was about the unavaibility of the "base" choice.
