Yes, that was one of the reasons.

We also wanted to ensure that people had enough conditions to organize the forums as needed by themselves.

Lately we have introduced good spam counter-measures. But some years ago when they were hitting hard the forums, the life expectancy of a spam poster was really short as so many people could take care of them right away.. :lol:

Since at the beginning of our forum the most active members would often share forum sections where their work was published, it was a good reason to allow this moderator permission to be inherited by default across multiple forum sections.

Over the years I wasn't expecting that we'd see so many good people enrolling as tutorial writers and developers, but we've kept on growing our family and things still turned out well this way. So, no reason to change.
