no, we hasn't seen REAL SNOW this autumn.
it doesnt even cold yet. i wear a very light jeans jacket and feel good))))))
we had a very cold and long winter (-25 C for a couple of weeks without a break) and a very hot summer (+35 C without clouds), i don't even know what to think about approaching winter)))))))

From a Portuguese perspective, -25º C is indeed very cold but +35º C without clouds is what we call "comfortable".

Our summer can peak up to +50º C and we rarely (if ever) go below 0º C.

This year I saw snow falling for the first time in my life, but it was in Pittsburgh, US and not Portugal.

It snowed so bad that week that the whole city went to a halt, no cars or people to be seen on the street while temperatures went down to -15º C.

I've passed through two tornados and lived on a place of waterfalls but no snow whatsoever.

You get it in Spain and some of the high peaks but rarely around my area.

In fact, since I was born, snow only appeared twice where I live. On the first time I had been born just a few months ago and on the second I was away from town and missed it.

When me and my friends saw it in Pittsburgh, we started playing like little kids since none of us was familiar with it.

when i was a child, i remember, there were A LOT of snow, every day my mom spent about an hour to clean up our m-m-m-m... yard? )) (we had our own house with a big free space).
but in the evening there were a lot of snow again, and it was difficult to get to the garage or just even to our neighbours))

Last 10-15 years it snows a liitle to compare to "those" years.

some people want to see the same things all over their life OR they think "that somthing's wrong with the planet"

With all due respect, what I said was:

There are indeed no big changes to be noted when looking at the facts for Portugal over the past 60 years.

And it does seem to rain a bit less. We have more 0.5 days of dry weather per decade to be more exact, albeit nowhere significant as you can read on these reports from 2008:

So, rain gets less frequent and also more intense, balancing the average per year. There is still rain every now and then, but it is certainly NOT THE worst rain in a thousand years at our region in concrete..

What I tried to say was that whatever governs our world uses ways that are far above the understanding of all of us, and even above that of our scientists (the ones that are payed to understand these phenomena and that don't know ANYTHING about them and that from time to time come out with some theory about ice age, and desertification and what not, completely void of ANY valid data behind them, so much that there are ongoing quarrels on EACH of these theories - which are of course hyped, one way or the other by our press).

A casual observation by an individual like "it used to rain a lot more ten years ago" as well as "there are not seasons as they used to be" are even more pointless.

I see ALL of the above as completely void of any relevance.

Supporting it with a quote from two years before, where it is clearly stated that such changes are not statistically relevant (over a time span of a few tens years, to be compared with the several millions year of the earth "life cycle") is even worse.

In other words, what I tried to point out was only the futility of such a remark, and the utter lack of any signifcance of it (no matter whether it is true that "it rains a little less").

If you want some pointless data, here is some: in Italy 2005 was far more rainy than the average of the 54 years before:


Please, find a trend in this (rain in Autumn and Winter over a 200 years span) and let me know:
