New version beta of SARDU 2.This is a mayor release, i rewritted at least 80% of code. The differences are many:

  • New graphics
  • Autolanguage (i'm searching language not translated)
  • New engine for ISO
  • New engine for USB
  • Folder ISO at user's choice
  • SARDU's ISO at user's choice
  • Copy of USB not freeze
  • New Tab for report

To add programs I must first know if it works well, wait for feedback, not request of software to add.

Thanks

Tested SARDU_2_beta1a with ubcd4win, trinity, rescue xp, win98bootdisk, on USB.

Everything worked except the UBCD4WIN.

Cannot load from boot file

So I took a look at some of the cfg files in the ubcd4win folders and found that most items start with a KERNEL /whatever.img

the UBCD4WIN starts with a COM32 /SETUPsomething or other.bin

I made sure the paths were correct and the files existed. I can boot from my UBCD4WIN ISO using virtualbox. Sorry I don't have exact paths at the moment.

The download file you have listed still says SARDU_2_beta1. Is this just a simple linking mistake?

Yep.. Looks like a linking mistake.

Just tried

http://www.sarducd.i...DU_2_beta1a.zip

and the download started... I'll try again and report back.

Wait feedback <_<
In SARDU i hexedit setupldr.bin and change the original folder. With this method i can put many PE.
If your error was with SARDU not a and USB....the problem was the name of the folder. Logically this problem was also on SARDU1.
SARDU2 is very very much better then SARDU1. The name beta is only because i have to add programs and refine the aesthetics.

Just wanted to say 1A worked great with the ubcd4win.

I'm building another one now with a few different iso's. So far so good, no more issues.

great work!

SARDU 2.0.0 Beta 1a

I have problem building ISO with SARDU 2 beta 1a with two ISO:
vbarescue.iso
kubuntu-10.04.1-desktop-i386.iso

Both files are in the ISO folder and both are "seen" by SARDU. But when I build the CD ISO I get the following errors:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VBA Rescue : vbarescue.iso
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7-Zip 4.62 Copyright © 1999-2008 Igor Pavlov 2008-12-02
Error:
there is no such archive

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kubuntu : kubuntu-10.04.1-desktop-i386.iso
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7-Zip 4.62 Copyright © 1999-2008 Igor Pavlov 2008-12-02
Error:
there is no such archive

Both ISO works fine with 1.0.7.3e. With that I could build a CD ISO with no errors and with both a working VBA rescue and Kubuntu on it.

Thank you for this outstanding piece of work!

SARDU2 and SARDU1 are completely different. The engine of management files is different.
The iso are the same? have you tried to download them again? In my test work fine <_<
Into Iso folder there are iso with similar names?

Yes. the ISO are exactly the same. Actually, I set SARDU 2.0.0 beta 1a to point to the same ISO folder of SARDU 1.0.7.3e.

However, now I am unable to reproduce the errors I have previously reported. Everything is now working super-fine. I really do not know what went wrong before. My apologies for that

Once again, thank you!

Trouble with a few ISO's aftering creating an Disc.

Here is my build

- avira
- bitdefender
- f-secure

- All of the utilities

- Damn small Linux
- Ubuntu 10.01 desktop x32

- UBCD4WIN
- All win recovery discs

-----------------------------
Issues

- Ubuntu doesn't boot,
- Trinity doesn't boot past the menu screen.
- BitDefender has an error Boot Failed after trying to load the kernel
- Clonezilla gets to the splash screen but hangs at a black screen forever when booting form default

----------------------------

Tests of building ISO's individually with sardu show the following.
- Trinity works
- Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop x32, doesn't work
- BitDefender Rescue CD works
- Clonezilla failed but only because it couldn't find a live media containing a file system which means it probably works.

-----------------------------

I'm going to try building again without ubuntu to see if that fixes all the issues.

I'll redownload both, verify the checksums and let you know.

Have you been successful checking everything under antivirus and utilities and linux yet?

Yeah it does work with bitdefender and trinity together.

Nope, I got it, sorry for the confusion. Try F-Secure and Trinity together.

F-Secure

SARDU 2.0.0 Beta 2

  • Add direct download for antivirus

This feature should be optional to have a choice,IMHO. Otherwise, you can get twice the same.

In this days I'll add this functions to all isos.
If the user don't click the button SARDU don't download the software
If the user click the button...SARDU download the software, rename old iso in NameSW.bak and or *.is in *.old.
in this way there cannot be duplicates and SARDU is always up-to-date

Hi there,

I'm a german guy and very new to this forum, glad to be here.
First of all I wanna say "Thank you" for the great work with SARDU1, it does a very good job for me.
As I realized that there is a new beta, I gave it a try.
After downloading and extracting the zip-file in WinXP SP3 in the folder "D:\SARDU2beta", I started the "sardu2.exe".
The Start-Window pops up for under 1 second and then closes, without any warning or error message.
Do I need some additional dot net frameworks or dll's or other stuff to get it run?

Thx a lot for your answer.
So long,
Alex

SARDU 2.0.0 Beta 2a. I cannot understand how to make a USB version. CD/DVD image works fine. But when I click on USB->Make Bootable USB, I get the message "If you have not connected the medium in which to write Sardu connect it now!" I guess it cannot find my USB flash drive? But it is connected and formatted, 32 GB nominal size. I also try Search USB and get the same message. What am i doing wrong?

It's NTFS. I'll try FAT32.
Edit: it finds it with FAT32.

Wishes:
1.tooltips to the buttons should be defined language.ini. Now in Italian, regardless of language.
2. Item Back in each submenu shift from the last row to the first. So it will be easier with a long menu, IMHO.
