:dubbio:

A small problem I have with "Hard Disk Manager 2010 Pro"

I do not know if this is the appropriate thread to ask this.

But I need help,

I need to get the "HDM 2010" live-cd or microP for computers with low RAM 256MB, and these live-cd paragon not start to be very heavy need 512 to boot.

Where can I get a "HDM 2010" in a Live-CD or some method of integrating a "microPE"

I searched google a "LIVE" CD "but it is in Russian and I do not understand

Who is encouraged to achieve something, or explain how.

There are two flavours of original Paragon HDM bootable media: Linux and WinPE 2.0. First one is definitely boots on 256Mb. The second doesn't boot because of the size, yep. But if you look inside the WinPE's WIM, you will find ...a Linux ISO :dubbio: Like a Russian matryoshka doll. Delete it from there, and repack the WIM, maybe it will boot on 256Mb this way. If you don't know how to repack WIMs, write me PM, I'll explain. Or you can simply use extracted Linux ISO instead of main WinPE.

There is a official Paragon support forum, btw. A lot of info how to use their products.

If you need a PE that needs little RAM to boot have a look at MOA - it is based on BartPE and Windows 2003 sp2.
If you use cheatcode "remount" it uses an USB-disk instead of a ramdrive and so it needs significantly less RAM than LiveXP and similar.

It is possible to boot it into explorer interface on 128 MB RAM hosts and still have unlimited free space in %tmp%

Don't know if it works with your app - just install it on the fly and see yourself ...

You can use a portable version of the program from (any) PE boot disk e.g. LiveXP, W7PE etc.

I come from there. In "Security Wilder" could not support the issue.
I made a post which mentioned how to adjust p2p on a computer with 256 and was told to look for a RAM. O_O

What happens is that I use the WinPE that comes through the Virtual Connect Disk Utility for VMware images and make the restoration and use of "P2P Adjust OS, Linux Live-CD does not bring any of these functions and does not help me .

and the problem is that the WinPE that comes by default, occupies more than 256MB and when I do the restoration on a computer with 256 MB will not boot, I have to be doing it on another computer with 512 or more.

The idea is to have that you can start with 256 in a micro-PE.

I think that could be used to extract the paragon product. "WIM" and transferred to a micro-pe.

I think I will seek ways to create me a micro-pe and to use the HDM 2010, but jejejej, it will not be easy.

try to create a winpe which does not boot into a RAM disk (which does not use the boot.wim)
but boots directly from CD-ROM/DVD-ROM

http://technet.micro.....28WS.10).aspx

when you create your winpe 2.x\3.x the main point is that:
do not pack the folders '\Windows' '\Program Files' '\ProgramData' '\Users' into a .wim file
and
in '\boot\BCD' have to use
Bcdedit /store c:\winpe_x86\mount\boot\BCD -set <GUID> osdevice boot
Bcdedit /store c:\winpe_x86\mount\boot\BCD -set <GUID> device boot

Yeah, just like in Windows Home Server Restore CD (dual boot). The same content with different load way.

But Paragon soft unlikely won't work correctly due to read-only environment.
I tried once to boot and not successful. Maybe latest do work from bare CD, don't know.

so it is true that i did not try yet this method with the Paragon CD

but using the above mentioned method the FBWF is still works
so in the booted PE the drive X: is not read only but writable

Yep, need some additional tweaking / script injecting. But on simple default it won't boot, I tried.

do not know
i have tried only in a VMware virtual machine - defined with 256MB memory
i used winpe3 (i made it using the AIK for Windows7)
then added the Paragon files and registry entries to my PE
then modded my bcd:
set path=C:\_PARAGON\HDM2010\boot\bcd
bcdedit.exe -store %path% -set {default} osdevice boot
bcdedit.exe -store %path% -set {default} device boot
for me the iso boots fine

sorry
i didn't mention an important point

in the booted PE in order to prevent 'eject CD' and program hang
i run the Paragon software via batch,
my 'start_paragon.bat' looks like:
[codebox]reg delete HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /f start "" /wait "%SystemDrive%\PROGRAMS\SHOW_LICENSE\SHOW_LIC.EXE" reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT /ve[/codebox] unfortunately in this case when the 'MiniNT' registry key is deleted in the Paragon's main menu the 'Tools' > 'Add Drivers' does not work
so i have to run dirctly the "X:\PROGRAMS\PARAGON SOFTWARE\PROGRAM\LOADDRV.EXE" before i delete this 'MiniNT' registry key
