Script to add Audio to your Win7PE build (Needs DX11 script and Win7DVD).

Tested OK with Win7PE_SE Release using Virtual PC 2007 and on real PC with Realtek High Definition Audio.

Realtek High Definition driver script.

Edit:
Updated link to audio.script v7

v7
Added the Service Multimedia Class Scheduler (MMCSS)
v6
Registry fix x64 and added WMware x64 audio driver
v5
Added the possibility to add your own drivers, thx ChrisR :hyper:
v4
Included fix by JFX, now audio activates itself (no more audio Activator)
v3
Improved support for browsers
v2
No more need to install driver 2 times.
Some drivers included. (VIRTUALAUDIO, AC97)

Hi,

I have not yet test your audio script :hyper: that I wait impatiently. DirectX 11 works well with Win7Pe_Se release ( x86 build) and i can watch vidéo on Youtube , but it lacks sound.
If you need help to test your future updates !

Thx ChrisR.

Some testing would be nice :)

Please test Audio V2 script
Make sure the driver is installed then run Audio ActivatorPE and click Activate.

Fix:
No more need to install driver 2 times.
Some drivers included. (VIRTUALAUDIO, AC97)

Audio Activator depends on the MS Visual C++ Runtimes 2008.
Seems the script included in Win7Pe_Se release have a bug who is fixed together with the .NET script. :hyper:

Also made Realtek High Definition driver script.

When Audio v2 is installed with the Realtek High Definition driver script.
I can go to Speakers Properties – Advanced – and I can play test sounds..

In device manager Realtek High Definition Audio - is installed correctly.
Also listed in device manager is
Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus - this is not installed correctly.

So I still have no sound when watching video,,,,, :hyper:

Hi PaPeuser.

I asume you run your test on your PC (not virtual).
If this PC have Win7 installed on HDD, try update driver - Search PC for driver, and select path "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore". If C: is your real HDD installation :hyper:

Do this on all your audio devices, and if lucky it will install OK. Run Activator again.

Yes I boot to PE for all tests. :hyper:

Ok… My host is Win7 x64 and I may not have correct drivers in Windows\system33\DriversStore…..

So I tried the Mother Board CD… and I did get drivers installed.. then I had to run Activator again,
ATI HDMI Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio are installed correctly ;) :)

Now I have no sound,, even speaker properties advanced will not play test sounds... ;)

OK, thx for testing :hyper:

I guess the needed files for your driver don't match those from the script.

I'll try to make another driver script tomorrow :)

BTW, what are the device ID's for your card?
Like, "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0883"

Hi ChrisR :hyper:

Have you tested audio with another program?
What script do you use to add IE8 with flash?

PaPeuser, did you also test with youtube?

Audio ActivatorPE is written by me. :)
It adds some registry entries to the registry after driver install.

Have you tested audio with another program?

I test it only with YouTube and DaillyMotion.
What program do you use to test your audio script (media player classic for example) ?

What script do you use to add IE8 with flash?

I have some trouble with IE8.
I use Opera, i add flah player plugin to the script, available here Opera.script. I add also mscms.dll in files.script (ReqSys32,mscms.dll)

With these answer, I tkink that PaPeuser, did also test with youtube?

Thanks for your explanations about Audio ActivatorPE :hyper: .

OK, I'll download Opera and try :hyper:

Myself I use VLC and Spotify to test.
Both these can be run from your HDD without the need to install to your PE.

Mainly I test with virtual PC 2007, but I have also tested it OK on 3 PC's with realtek HD audio.

Made a VLC script, not 100% but does run.
Adds however alot of MB to your build so better to run from HDD.

Tested youtube with Opera.
I have no sound eather with Opera on youtube, but with Spotify and VLC sound is OK  :)

I confirm, YES I also have the sound with VLC :hyper: but not with YouTube !

DirectX say :
- DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
- Direct3D Acceleration: Not Available
- AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled
- Sound : No problem was detecte

A little difficult at startup, I have to load drivers with PnPutil (a list of audio drivers !), then AudioActivator and I start the Audio service.

Good to hear you have sound :hyper:

Not sure why youtube/Opera/Flash don't work.

Hopefully we can make sound enable itself in the future :)

YES very good :hyper: .

Not sure why youtube/Opera/Flash don't work.

if you have an explanation and a solution :) , it would be nice

Hopefully we can make sound enable itself in the future :w00t:

Me too.

for the audio script that fails in x64 build, I added this at the beginning of the script :
[process]

ReadEnv,SourceType

If,Not,%SourceType%%SourceArch%,Equal,Win7CDx86,Exit,"Audio script supports only Win7CD x86 Builds for NOW."

Hello....
After hours of testing different scripts :hyper: :)
I got Yahoo video and YouTube to play Video and sound with IE8 ... ;)

Using – ChrisR Win7PE_SE and NewBSOD Audio
Copy Files – do a ----Full File Copy
If you use IE8 - xVPE IE8 - Do not select IE7Pro 2.4.5

Windows Media Player 10.00 3802 eng -K-Light Code pack 4.1.7.0 full for VistaPE
I also had to use the Services Win7 script. in options for this script i only chose
-Themes
-Windows Audio Service
-ActiveX installer.. –
Thanks Ludovici and Vuurat

When booted you will get a error about Media Player click ok
Run PnpUtil
Audio Activator
And try YouTube..... Have fun watching Video with sound :w00t:

This is just a work around to test .. This is what worked for me...
Thanks NewBSOD, ChrisR, Max and all

Find the script that has clid.reg in it and replace with this one.
OR import hiv under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes offline.
OR find the clid.reg under system32 folder and replace it.

Put files in rar under system32 folder.

what you should have gain?
Flash support, Xvid divx support, I don't count other differences.

Note: Your all system stability can loose, context menus can change. Just for test for english winpe. If you spent lots of time with different scripts maybe you can have some spare time to test too. No audio or service settings in it. You will need media player script for dll files. You dont need k-lite script. You wont need boot time register any dll,ax about ie,media maybe other stuff. It is full win7 classes + flash + xvid + desktop mycomputer manage fixed.

so i have sound in browsers in the 'You Tube' videos,
and it is true that the 'K-Lite Codec Pack Basic' really not needed,
but as it fix some registry entries at installation it helped me a lot,

nevertheless i used not this new audio script of NewBSOD which attached in this thread
but i used an older modded audio script
(modded for use in ChrisR's Win7PE_SE_2010_09_06 project
as ChrisR's project does not support the 'AddAutoRun' api command)
which based on this script:
http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=97819
(that 'audio_w7.script' on MediaFire is intended to use in Joshua's 'Win7RescuePE' project)
plus
added this reg key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32]
"midimapper"="midimap.dll"
"wavemapper"="msacm32.drv"
etc.

just to clarify things
i think ChrisR's project does not use the clid.reg under system32 folder at boot time,

@ChrisR
or am i wrong?
