Can anyone point me to a link where I can see how to not run wpeinit and just run another custom .exe instead?
I need VistaPE to boot as fast as possible. Right now, I have it booting from a USB CD rom in under 4 minutes. All I get is the command shell which is fine.
I don't need to enumerate any NICs or other hardware except for IDE and USB drives. Do I need to run wpeinit? It seems to take some time to complete.
I would rather just run my app that installs my software from teh USB stick to the IDE drives.
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hi Patrick,
you might wanna try and edit \windows\system32\winpeshl.ini of your WinPE-Image. I cant verify this right now, but there should be a line
[LaunchApp]AppPath = cmd.exeIf it isnt there, just setup a new one. You can find some more information in the WAIK-help files
Greetings,
Valentin
