KASPERSKY VIRUS REMOVAL TOOL 2010

The program needs to be installed on the PC in order to build. The script includes the option to download the latest version of the tool. Suggestions are welcome.

Tested on Win7PESE.

Update v5 Maintenance release. Fixed download url and app version description.

Unfortunately the file name of the driver file changes with every install. That means the script lines to install the driver need to be dynamically generated.

Not sure what you are talking about.

I downloaded the program several times, in order to ensure that it worked on a couple of installs. The only part I am not comfortable with is the number that follows KAV EN, I wish I could replace it without writing it in the command. The url.ini file is recreated every time you donwload.

I copied the registry information as it was given by the first install. However if you check out the plugin, it doesn't use the system32 driver.

I was talking about this file: 3079843.sys. In your script its 73433612.sys.

Every time you run the avp installer program ( kaspersky.exe ) the sys file installs with a different name.

Your script does attempt to install the sys file into the registry with:

Run,%ScriptFile%,SetupReg.AddReg

I did however just delete that line and the SetupReg.AddReg section from the script and avp runs without problem. Don't know if you loose some scanning functionality without having the driver.

The driver file seems to be an Activity Monitor, and can be found in the drivers subfolder on the Kaspersky Virus Tool Folder. If it is considered important I can enable it properly in the plugin.

Thank you, carloscape, that would be great.
Does your script also work with Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool 2011 (11.0.0.1245)?

I am afraid it doesn't. My script downloads the previous version. I updated the link on the first post, it should be working now.

Downloaded the file, but can't get it working with the 11.0.0.1245 release.
I was also looking through the script and didn't see anywhere in the file where it would be downloading the tool... The only relevant line was this (Line 42):

TXTReplace,%ScriptDir%\%ProgramFolder%\url.ini,"KAT-ES 9.0.1.722 ",weburl=

Is there something I am missing or is this project just too out of date to work?

*NOTE* I meant to add: Is the installer itself supposed to be located in %UserProfile%\Desktop\Virus Removal Tool? Or is the installation (Every time I use the installer, it doesn't actually install the program. It creates a temporary version in the AppData\Local\Temp directory) supposed to be located in that directory? I'm using Win8 x64 to build a Win7PE x86 if that is of any help.
