Obviously, a noob... If I'm in the wrong place...

I am trying to use my onboard NVIDIA nForce Ethernet in Hirens. I Emailed Hiren and heard back:

option 1
you will have to modify HBCD\XP.CAB xp.img using winimage

option 2
you can also copy *.inf to x:\i386\inf
*.sys to i386\system32\drivers
*.dll to system32 folder
and then run network support and it should detect

Option 3 is posting here!

Anyway, where to get the files to copy? I have them as part of a motherboard package: "15.45_nforce_winxp32_whql" and I'll dump them here:

C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\NAM\NAMSetup.exe
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\bdco1.dll
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\cohelper.dll
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\fdco1.dll
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvconrm.dll
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvefdxp.sys
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvenetfd.cat
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvenetfd.inf
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvenetfd.tag
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvnetbus.cat
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvnetbus.inf
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvnetbus.sys
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvnetbus.tag
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvnrm.nvu
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvnrm.sys
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvphy.bin
C:\NVIDIA\nForce\15.45\International\Ethernet\nvunrm.exe

I followed Hiren's directions and my ethernet card was not detected. So, here I am.

Yes, cdob is correct. We have a rule of thumb for not supporting warez around the forums.

If you really want to learn how to solve the issue you mention and perhaps creating an even better CD in a fully legal way, then I'd seriously recommend that you try a project like LiveXP - http://winbuilder.ne...oad.php?view.35

Not only it should provide out-of-the-box support for your NIC but it should be fairly easy to build - just unpack the files to a folder, fire up winbuilder and point to place where your XP install files can be found. No other steps needed to get a working ISO this way.

The LiveXP forum can be found here in case you have any other questions:
http://www.boot-land...hp?showforum=52

You can also add a lot of software to your boot CD and choose what to include or not.

Good luck, I really hope LiveXP can get your NIC working.

:)
