Today I've been looking around the webmaster logs provided by google analytics to see how people find our site while googling.

For the most part, we're sought after "install XP from USB", "winbuilder", "grub4dos" and so forth but nothing comes close to this year's award for the "most unexpected google search keyword":

Pizza Margherita

That's right, it seems that boot land is accounting with over 30% of all the google searches in a world wide scale for this tasty type of Pizza.

Thanks are due to everyone who participated on the topic that allowed to reach the top charts on google:
http://www.boot-land...amp;#entry79507

I don't know how this happened but google seems to have fixed this glitch.

-----------

And another promising dish that appears on the upper ranks very close to the top is "doner kebab" proposed by Lancelot: http://www.boot-land...?...ost&p=49131

------------

Maybe a gastronomy section should be made available? :)

JFYI, I have an update to this:

I was in Lisbon in march 2010 and portuguese pizza still tasted almost, but not quite, completely unlike real pizza. :(

Come on.. now you only visit Portugal while I was away? :)

We try our best at pizza but it's surely not our strong dish.

Well, at least we still have a good Bitoque.

Well, as said you have your own very good dishes, everything fish based is usually very, very good in Portugal, even in small "unknown" restaurants. :(

I don't want to somehow make people think that pizza in Lisbon is not good, simply it is a good "commercial" pizza, the kind you find, say, at "pizza Hut", good, tasty, but with very little in common with a "real" pizza.

Really hard to say.

Pizza (and Pizza Margherita specifically) was "invented" in Naples in the occasion of the first visit to the city of Queen Margherita:
http://www.inmamaski...zzahistory.html
http://en.wikipedia....izza_Margherita

Conversely, Naples is the "city of Pizza".

This is AFAIK, an unbiased guide to pizzerie in Naples:
http://pizzerienapoli.altervista.org/

The two most reknown are:
da Michele:
http://pizzerienapol...org/da-michele/

Sorbillo:
http://pizzerienapol...a.org/sorbillo/

@Nuno - Places that are comparable to the Cervejaria Trinidade de Lisboa http://www.cervejariatrindade.pt/ as they have a tradition that has roots in the 19th century - though the actual buildings have not the same charme

The pizza in Naples tends to be a little more "fluffy" and thick than in other italian cities, in Italy it is quite common that debates and flame wars about how thick a real pizza should be started around the table when pizza arrives.

The key ingredient (the one that makes the difference) is the mozzarella.

Mozzarella in Campania (Naples and cities around it) is ONLY made from buffalo milk:
http://en.wikipedia....falo_mozzarella
Don't be fooled by the fact that it is produced elsewhere also, italian buffalo mozzarella (and particularly that from Campania and Puglia) has a different (better) taste, or anyway it's the taste that pizza should have.

"real" mozzarella is hand-made (video example):

Sorry, only noticed your reply while updating the topic.

I think nothing beats the style and luxury of a Macdonald's in Rome that is inside one of the older buildings, really strange but entertaining to grab a burger there. (don't remember the name of the building, sorry)

To drink beer, there are many cool places. In Lisbon I don't like it so much as it is a dangerous town to walkabout during the night in inebriated state.

If you go to Spain or either North/South of Portugal you'll find many good locations with an amazing atmosphere. Guess it also depends on the people you're traveling with and the size of your wallet.
