Hi,

Is there any way for me to know/see what files are in a Windows PE file, and copy from them?

Especially, I'd like to peek into the following Windows PE (related) files,

winpe.im_
wnpefont.bin
winpe.xpe

How can I do that?

Thanks

What Windows PE version is this? How did you get those files? winpe.im_ looks like it could be expanded. Maybe it's a partition or HDD image?

Thanks for your reply, Sha0.

I have no idea what version it is, but should be very latest. I get them from an iso file, which has a boot menu that boots into different tools. I hope that I can decouple them.

As for winpe.im_, it is in a directory called axpe, which has 2 other files, ntdetect.com & setupldr.bin.

Thanks again.

open winpe.im_ file with 7z , extract the main .img file . mount it with imdisk.

Just FYI, you can open most .ima/.img (RAW hard disk images) with 7-zip allright. :)

Thanks a lot for the replies everybody!

Just for the archive, I opened the winpe.im_ file with 7z file manager just fine, and get winpe.img. However, when opening the winpe.img, the whole 64M img file only shows one 10K file (BIOSINFO.INF).

I'll try imdisk next.

Thanks again.

Yes, imdisk works well (after overcoming an initial hurdle --

).

Thanks everybody again.
