I personally do not need any respect from individual forum's members. I got enough of that during my commercial time of business.

In this forum I only do my best to offer solutions which work for 99% of the forum's members.

Well interesting to came today here and see you turn my nice project into a test of the latests WB trash version.

Seeing the latest published RC1 beeing called 'trash' gives me some emotions.
One of the emotions is 'why waste my time for users agressing or blaming me'

Whether you call my reaction "Childish" or "Logical" or "What I wanted", there is no difference.

nativeEx closed for the publish, as told above.

And you remove those solutions from 100% of the forum members because 1% doesn't respect you and your work?

@JFX
JFYI, this is exactly one of the occasions in which I miss the opportunity to kick asses really hard, there is nothing wrong in having different opinions, and say so, but offending other members is definitely against CIVIL behaviour, besides against Board Rule #7 and "normal" netiquette.

Why not?
I decide what I offer to the community.
And it is MY decision to stop with certain offers.
I'm not Mr. Boot-Land, I'm only a human with human reactions.
The issue here is that the 1% (or 2% / 3% - see the other posts about %ISOFile% -) are trying to declare a new version as bad, because it demands 2 minutes of adapting some existing scripts.
And of course, the adapted scripts will work with older WB versions!

But naming the RC1, which took many hours to build, simply as 'Trash' gave me the trigger to tell the world to live w/o my trash. I only make my personal work unavailable. The work I did in WinBuilder development, still remains.

Sure , that's totally and entirely within your sphere of decision.

And I do understand stopping developing/stopping devolving your time to the Community, but making existing things UNAVAILABLE?

At least for historical reasons, it seems to me a lot similar to the "stealing" from public knowledge I so much deprecate.

And of course this is just my personal opinion.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but JFX didn't call your version Trash. He refered to it as a 'trash' version, a name you introduced yourself for the prereleases

Peter, %ISOFile% has just been the example. There's other areas where the RC is not backwards-compatible as well. I used %ISOFile% as a focused example showing that again the move to a new stable version is again bringing the same story of lack of backwards compatibility. Not because of new features, but because of changes to basic rules of syntax and what can and cannot be done. I'm getting the feeling from the example of %ISOFile% that nothing about WB development is going to change anytime soon. There's no plan in place to avoid issues such as this arising again -- projects developers seem to have to just live with the fact that WB stables are just not meant to be backwards-compatible. Something such as %ISOFile% can be changed over night, breaking compatibility, without being consulted about this.

Given this development structure, it really shouldn't surprise you that people will be upset about this. People get frustrated when time and again it is found that the new WB cannot be used as-is with a project compatible with the prior WB release.

Regards,
Galapo.

Does this mean that all Nativex Projects are being discontinued? I am getting all sorts of download errors for missing files in Nativex Core, and Nativex Tools. Will Nativex Win7 run without them?

Not finally. I only wanted to give some guys the opportunityto think about, that cooperation may be better than fight.
nativeEx_Win7 including WimCaptEx is already open since a while.

I'll have a look at tools and make that ones available which are necessary for nativeEx_win7.

Peter
