Just a quick FreeDOS boot menu question.

In MS-DOS config.sys I can create a boot menu using submenus with the following:
[menu]

submenu=IDE, Load PATA CD-ROM support

submenu=SATA, Load SATA CD-ROM support

submenu=USB, Load USB CD-ROM support

menuitem=1394, Load 1394 CD-ROM support

menuitem=SCSI, Load SCSI CD-ROM support

submenu=ELTO, Load El Torito CD-ROM support

menuitem=NOCD, No CD-ROM support.

menudefault=IDE,30

menucolor=7,0

Is there a similar ability to have submenus in FreeDOS? I've looked around google and all the examples I can find don't have submenus but no one flat out says it can't be done.

Thanks!

Let's try putting it ion another way. :cheers:

Q.: Is the submenu command documented in Freedos? :cheers:
A.: NO. :P
Q.: Is another similar config.sys command documented?
A.:NO.
Reference:
http://help.fdos.org/en/index.htm

Check this:

I presume that it will be part of the transition from "numbered" to "labeled" menu items, see here:
http://wiki.fdos.org...n/Post_1_0_Todo
http://wiki.fdos.org...t_1_0_Todo#toc1

If I were you I would try some of the "external" menu systems for DOS, most of them should work under FreeDOS allright.
Some of them:

hmm...since that post was from 5 years ago I'm not going to hold my breath waiting. I had been hoping to replicate a MS-DOS bootdisk I have that has a wide selection of cdrom drivers/redirectors. Without submenus I don't think it will work (or I'll have to split it into multiple images)

Thanks for the help!
