Hi everyone,

I posted this subject before as a reply to a subject in the forums, but now I am posting it again as a how to tutorial, so please go ahead follow the link and download the PDF tutorial file, its simple, easy, straight forward, with pictures of the steps, and most of all you do not need any programs to do it, so if you succeed doing it and works well for you, come back and post a comment so I know it worked for you..regards

one more important thing, if you are working from a Windows Vista or 7 environment is to turn off the UAC ( user account controll) completely and restart before you work with the guide, other wise you will not succeed practicing this tutorial. :P

This is not the easiest by any stretch of the imagination  and does not work on XP systems.

see

for the easiest method (works on XP/Vista/Win7 32 or 64 bit).

Thank you Steve for your reply:
1- First thing it is the easiest ever method. Its a 14 steps process that can be done in 10 minutes .
2- It is intended for Vista and 7 as the title say and its not for xp.
3- This guide is meant to be done without using any program, not as you suggested and posted that youtube link.
regards and thank you again.

Hi Jamal

Isn't running BootSect unnecessary? Vista and Win7 put a bootmgr bootsector on any storage device it formats.
Also to save typing in DISKPART just use first 3 letters - e.g. LIS DIS, CRE PAR PRI, SEL PAR 1 (which is not needed anyway), ACT.
You can use the LIS VOL to see where the DVD and UFD devices are before exiting DISKPART.
Also when using Explorer you must copy over system and hidden files and so must configure Explorer to do this, so why not just say 'type xcopy /herky J:\*.* F:\*.*' ??

Good tutorial.
It is for putting "Windows 7 installer" bootable USB flash drive so that you can use it to install Windows 7 from USB flash drive.

Please clarify in title or description, so readers will know this is not Windows 7 installed in USB flash drive.

Windows 7 or Vista from a USB thumb drive, Ultimate & Easiest How To make it guide - this could be interpreted by some people as Boot Windows 7 or Vista from a USB thumb drive, Ultimate & Easiest How To make it guide

A better title would be
