Though having here a (manually made) list of sites that talk about boot-land will NOT create the volume of traffic that "hosting" the stoopid automatic RSS feeds by (no offence intended to the Authors ;)) Agni and Michael Pietroforte, here is one:
http://itknowledgeex...idden-treasure/

Good initiative.

Ed has written a good article about boot land. He also written another one about Windows PE where he refers our WinPE7 forum: http://www.informit.....aspx?p=1561903

I have some news (maybe ;)) for you.
This site:
http://www.reimage.com/

Is using Winbuilder:
http://www.reimage.com/bootcd.php

As it's inner working engine, (basically a VERY OLD version of LiveXP/BartPEcore).

Please do notice how the above linked to page is NOT part of the links of it's site section:
http://www.reimage.com/support.php
or in other words, try finding this page:
http://www.reimage.com/bootcd.php
by simply navigating the website.

You could ask the "authorized redistributor" ;), since that site has a MUCH BETTER Alexa Ranking than boot-land:
http://www.alexa.com...nfo/reimage.com
24,907 vs. 55,521 right now, to at least link properly to boot-land and give to the board a little more rleevance that an unreadable size=1 light grey text on white background on an unlinked page.

Obviously it is redistributing a number of apps, stand-alone or embedded in winbuilder .scripts.

Among the others:
  • SETUPLDR.BIN and ramdisk.sys from Server 2003 SP1
  • Bart's PE builder
  • Sherpya's XPE
  • VDK.EXE
  • qemu-img.exe
  • mkisofs.exe
  • Acronis-TrueImageServer91-Lite
  • DriveImage XML
  • OODefrag10
  • ....
all without or with a mis-represented or UNviewable by the user license.

Of course the site is "not responsible" for this as it is simply redistributing (being "authorized") let's call them "products" coming from winbuilder.

The circle is closed. ;)

Perhaps the page that you refer is kept only for historical reasons if it is no longer tied to the main site.

How did you figure that out? I can't download anything from that site. ;)

:(

Go here:
http://www.reimage.com/bootcd.php

Click on the image with an arrow and written on it "Download a Boot CD Builder it's free", the link is this one:
http://www.reimage.c...BootBuilder.php

Wait, WITHOUT ANY confirmation until a file called winconsole.exe is downloaded (approx. 128 Mb)

Or use the direct link ;):
http://cdnrep.reimag.../winconsole.exe

What kind of Browser gives you that behaviour?
Without clicking cancel on the login, nothing ever happens with any of the 3 browsers i tested.

I guess there is something else going on.

OPERA, what else? ;)

I cannot remember any "login" prompt. ;)

Let's try, once again, to play the game the right way, why don't you simply describe WHAT happens if you follow EXACTLY what I posted above, without assuming that I can see what happens (which I cannot, due to the known problems with my crystal ball... ;))

I click on this link http://cdnrep.reimag.../winconsole.exe
Then i get a new window and a dialog asking for a login.
If i just wait, nothing happens. If i click cancel, i get a download of winconsole.exe. But it is only 1,61kb in size.
Tryed with FF, Opera and even IE.

Well, it's working here.

Maybe I managed to get the right "referral"?

Have you tried visiting the homepages and this one?:
http://www.reimage.com/bootcd.php

Or maybe it is some problem on the server side? :ranting2:

Or maybe the direct link only works if you go through the:
http://www.reimage.c...BootBuilder.php
?? ;)

BTW, I found where Reimage was announced on the board:
http://www.boot-land...?showtopic=4854

Tryed all links you've provided. Always the same result. A login.

Also went to the homepage just now, before using again all links. Result: A Login.

No idea what Voodoo you work, to get past a Login screen without being loged in.

No ideas either.
Maybe it's IP based, my IP is more "welcome" than yours. (just kidding :ranting2:)
As soon as I have an occasion, I will try to reach it from another IP and see what happens.

First it would be great, if you could do a test, after you 'ate' all your cookies. :ranting2:
