As the title says.

here are a few supposedly "special characters":
àèéìòùç

that (posted now) I can see allright. :)

Too bad that anything previously posted shows as a black rectangle, example:
http://www.boot-land...?...pic=732&hl=

ï¿
½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½

Wonko

P.S.: And yes, I already have a half idea of how it happened :w00t::
http://www.boot-land...?...=10862&st=9

BTW, maybe someone should tell Nuno that probably during one of the attempts to update and better the board :), the support for accented characters was broken, so that everyone not using "kosher" Ascii seems like a demented typist using a set of black squares instead of characters.
The bad news are that unlike the known link problem where the stupid board software while changing the format of the links kept the original information, in this case it seems like the original info is lost forever.

No you are not.
This happens only with webber.

I see , I am posting a nice image with the two available skins (since I have been deprived of the "real" classical ones, I am using the one that I presume you call "webber", instead of the UGLY "default" skin).

the first set of characters I posted were:
accented a
accented e (acute)
accented e (grave)
accented i
accented o
accented u
c-sedilla as in garçon or in ağız çalıştırmadan önce beyin bağlamak :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ç

The other set is just a copy and paste-paste-paste-paste-paste, etc. of a couple of characters in the referenced thread, presumably:
c-sedilla as in garçon
and "portuguese" a with tilde ã:

heh, writing special charecters with bugy webber which results with a total unreadibility. :). This is known and looong while ago saydin77 had a suggestion to fix all these thingies.

my comment: Last time I trust boot-land on writing special charecters, things again messed. Posted Image

Anyway, I do not care much, I only answered topic question shortly.

ps:
As a result instead of üğışçöÖÇİŞÜĞ I always use ugiscoOCISUG .

Garçon, vien ici! :)

Não vejo os problemas que referem..

This seems to be occurring only on the webber skin. Will try to find the culprit later when I have some time, ok?

In the bottom of my screen in the scrollbox I see "----Webber".
So I assume having the Webber skin.

But your Portuguese characters are displayed correctly here. So there might be a different reason.

Well, yes and no.

No hurry :w00t:, but you seem to be missing the point. :w00t:

The two skins have evidently different character encoding, if anyone posts something when using the "webber" skin, noone using the "default web 2.0" one is able to read properly what is posted, and viceversa if someone posts something when using the "default web 2.0", noone using the "webber" can read it.

This simple sentence (without accented characters):

Eu estava em Lisboa no mes passado e provei um bacalhau a bras muito bom.

Posted (with accented characters with "classical" "webber":

Eu estava em Lisboa no mês passado e provei um bacalhau à brás muito bom.

This is posted with the UGLY "web 2.0" skin:

Eu estava em Lisboa no ms passado e provei um bacalhau brs muito bom.

Yes, very annoying behavior.

I've applied changes on the webber theme. Would you please verify that you can read and write back "Bacalhau à Brás"?

As already explained: IMHO it is not the Webber theme. It is something special on Wonko's system (of course not independent from some forum's software features).

I see Wonko's post two times wrong, but differently wrong:

Wonko's post is perfectly right, it must be your settings.... :)

Maybe you are using the other (and only "right" skin, which is the "real" classic, only allowed to Admin and maybe Mods)

Try LOGGING OFF (as psc) and view the board as guest. :w00t:

@Nuno
I am seeing it right from "classic" "webber".
New post:

Wait while I check with UGLY "web 2.0"....
Old Post "bad", new post "right":

Eu estava em Lisboa no mês passado e provei um bacalhau à brás muito bom.

The "reference" thread looks allright in both:

Thanks.
