Good Morning all!

I have just updated to WinBuilder 080.

When I use it, I am OK for downloading all the files; I am trying to run Win7RescuePE

I have copied the Win7 CD to sources, and installed the latest Windows AIK

To launch the program, I right click, and "Run as Administrator" -- my account is a member of the local administrators group.

I still recieve the error message:
To run WinBuilder properly, you need to be logged in as administrator. Maybe some functions will not work correctly.

Click OK, and proceed.

When I try to build Win7RescuePE (v.13) - downloaded this morning - I recieve the following error section:

Run - Processing section: [MountWin7-imagex] From file: [%BaseDir%\Projects\Win7RescuePE\Build\0-preconfig.script]
"Mounting Windows Win7 boot.wim files with imagex.exe... "2
ShellExecute: [Hide] using: ["C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\\Tools\amd64\imagex.exe"] with parameters: [/mount "%BaseDir%\Source\Windows7\sources\boot.wim" 2 "%BaseDir%\Temp\Win7RescuePE\BootWimSrc"]
[//Echo,%ExitCode%]
IF - [2] is not equal to: [0] evaluated string: [If,"%ExitCode%",Equal,"0",Echo,"Mounting Windows Win7 boot.wim: success"]
[//If,"%ExitCode%",NotEqual,"0",Echo,"Mounting Windows Win7 boot.wim: ERROR"]
IF - [2] is not equal to: [0] evaluated string: [If,Not,%ExitCode%,EQUAL,0,Begin]
Message: Mount Win7 boot.wim files with imagex.exe returned with 2

Run - Processed section [MountWin7] in file: [%BaseDir%\Projects\Win7RescuePE\Build\0-preconfig.script]

to do some testing I did the following:

When running from a non-elevated command prompt, I get this error with the imagex:
ERROR: The current logged on user does not have administrative privilege

However, when running from an elevated command prompt (Run as administrator)

Mounting: [C:\WinBuilder\Source\Windows7\sources\boot.wim, 2] -> [C:\WinBuilder\
Temp\Win7RescuePE\BootWimSrc]...

[ 100% ] Mounting progress

Successfully mounted image.

Total elapsed time: 31 sec

I made sure that there were no spaces in the source directory in line with the only other post I've seen on this error...

When you are running in Win7 do you have UAC disabled? Is there something else I may be missing?

Thanks!

Your issue can be explained easily (provided your issue is what I assume now)

You MUST start WinBuilde as administrator.
That means:
If you start WinBuilder by DblClick, you are NOT administrator, even if your logon profile proofs this.
You must: Right click Winbuilder.exe and then "Start as Administrator"

Several projects use WinBuilder functions to check for admin, unfortunatelly Win7RescuePE does not (yet).

For your personal use, you can create a shortcut doing this. But unfortunatelly, WinBuilder does not provide the shortcut automagically when you install.

So I'm making further progress than before.

I am a member of Domain Admins - which is in turn a member of administrators.

I did two things differently this time:

1) Rebooted after setting everything with the copied Win7 (instead of the ISO mount I had before).

2) Added my individual domain user account to the local administrators account.

After doing this I got to the point where it told me that the image doesn't work with 64-Bit Win7... so.. time to grab the other image for further testing :whistling:
