I find an useful thing to have, besides the actual version number of something, also a codename during develpment.

Traditionally the good MS guys named windows versions with names of cities, like Cairo, Memphis, Chicago, etc.

The good Ubuntu guys use an animal and an adjective:

Since they are obviously smarter (or at least more prone to joking :dubbio: ) than the other group, the initials of both the name and adjective also are meaningful.

But since it all happened by accident, they forgot the AA, so we have an occasion to start anew with the new course of Winbuilder releases, some proposals for next 082 version:
  • Amiable Anchovy
  • Angry Alligator
  • Astonished Aardvark
  • Attentive Airdale
  • Awesome Archaeopteryx
  • Awful Allosaurus

I liked this suggestion a lot, do we really need two AA?

For ubuntu, they only use the first letter in most cases and not talking about a version it's tough for people from the outside to know which version number they're talking about.

Well the nice part is actually that there is the double Adjective and Name, both beginning with the same letter, and then nearly always referred by the Adjective only.

And the initial is also univocally linked to a version, so it's easy to understand what one is talking about.

I mean, if we are having fun, why not having REAL fun? :exclamation:

I left aside:
  • Asseverated Armadillo

Just in case the general idea was appreciated :dubbio:
