I spent hours figuring this out because I couldn't find it posted anywhere and I don't use winbuilder.

If you need WinPCAP installed in WinPE (for Wireshark, etc.)

Get the winpcap cab from sherpya (note -old and unmaintained but seems to work)
http://sourceforge.n....4.cab/download

Extract the cab using 7zip
Mount your winpe image
Using DISM install the npf driver
Dism /image:<path to image> /Add-Driver /driverpath:<path>\winpcap.inf

Copy npf.sys to <mount>\windows\system32\drivers

Copy all the other files to system32 directory

Download NPPTools.dll and copy to <mount>\windows\system32\drivers
http://www.dll-files....shtml?npptools

Make sure you start npf_mgm.exe -I and npf_mgm.exe -s after the network has initialized

Thanks for the report. ;)

Is it about PE 1.x (XP/2003 based), PE 2.x (Vista/2008 based) or PE 3.x (Windows 7 based)? ;)

or get latest version from the nmap-setup. It includes a winpcap version that allows silent installation after boot.

I find that very convenient - no need to modify the build at all
