Here is some quick docs to explain how it works

this program automates the install of drivers for vista pe

it searches the driver folder recursively to see what drivers need to be installed.

and it installs the drivers that it finds

on the command line after you type the exe there are 4 options that need set

1. the drivers path
2. the extracted windows path
3. where is the exe located
4. silent or with a display form

"%ScriptDir%\DriversInstall\vistadrvinst.exe ",""%ScriptDir%\DriversInstall\Drivers" "%TargetDir%\Windows" "%ScriptDir%\DriversInstall" "0""

Hi ctv99, cool stuff indeed :P Does this work for mass storage drivers as well?

I have a small request that I was hoping you'd consider. I have a large store of drivers in another location on my computer. Is there anyway you could add something that would let me point to a different drivers folder in your script?
Business Desktop Deployment 2007 creates a driver store for you and puts them into nice neat folders when you give it drivers for windows builds and PE. This would let me use that common store and make it easier to keep drivers updated and manageable as well.

Either way, thanks for the great program..it's much appreciated :P

Can you add a small how to Tutorial on how we are suppose to use it.

I tried to test it since it Standalone. Which is great.

It says to Select Windows Path. When I do that it just tells me that "No files where found on the Drivers folder ".

Is this meant to collect drivers?
Is this meant to Add drivers to the VistaPE when running?
Is this suppose to create a script that will create a script with embeded Drivers?

When posting back, can you update you first post with how to use and stuff like that so that people will not have to go thru all the post to try to find info. Thanks!

I like the interface. Very Clean looking.

Ok Mods Requested Done

You Can Now Specify A Drivers Folder In The Script

@TheHive

1.Select Windows Path Is The Extracted Boot.Wim Windows Folder
2.No It Gets A List Of All Inf And Inserts Then Into Your Image
3.No This Add Drivers During Build So During Bootup VistaPE Auto Loads Them
4.No ItAccually Intalls the Drivers @ The Time Of Running

It seems to work. I was able to point to the Drivers pack by phox and it seemed to process them when running the Project.
Now I think I understand how it works. :P

Nice to hear that - 2Gb worth of drivers should be a boot disc worth to try out on a lot of crazy machines! :P

Hi ctv99,

could you please tell me how to integrate the driverload tool into the current Winbuilder (068) ? Simply copying it into the some Apps subdir does not work ... sorry for the newbie question, I am still a newbie unfortunately

edit: it worked when adding the files to the Addons folder instead of the apps folder.

Thanks,
Alex

I also was able to use his tool to build a very large D:\winpe_x86\mount\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository = 2,815 files, 683 folders

I then editted the script : vistape007-base\Projects\VistaPE\Build\Standard-1-files.Script

In the "[FileCopyFull]" area, I added this line representing the source and destination:

DirCopy,"D:\winpe_x86\mount\Windows\System32\DriverStore\*.*","D:\Vista PE project\PE Shell Project\vistape007-base\Target\Windows\System32\DriverStore"

This built the VistaPE with all the driver files included.

So if I add the Driver Installer in to the Addons folder, I will be able to use it and point to multiple locations?

Is this method of integrating drivers work for Mass Storage drivers as well?

Is this compatible with BTS Driver packs for either MassStorage or NIC's?

Thanks!
