Ich arbeite mich gerade in Winbuilder ein und versuche eine Live DVD mit dem Win7PESE Paket zu erstellen. Klappt soweit auch ganz gut, aber bei dem besagten Acronis True Image Home 2012/2013 scheitert es...

Ich habe gelesen man braucht, um das einbauen zu können, die "Plus Pack" Version, ich habe aber nur die "standard" 2013er Version. Ist das auch irgendwie ohne möglich? Ich möchte ungern das nochmal kaufen...

You can change the download location in case it moves, and set whether you want it to download a new copy with every project run. There is no new version checking going, so just use the check box next time you notice it needs updating.

I realise some of it's power with checking services and drivers won't work from a PE environment, but I've repaired quite a few MBR based rootkits this way and for that reason justifies the script.

How can we give the support for printer in winPE?

If i need to add any package or any script at the time when I prepare the .wim file?

Details-

I am creating a .wim file with which I boot the pc on network using wds. For particular client I need to print some docs when it boots with my winpe. I have the CD of the printer that is connected to this client(with usb).

If the client is booting with winpe and I have its console on which I can execute the commands, then what should I need to do here for installing the printer drivers.

I know the only thing that drvload command is used to install the drives online that takes .inf file path.

But its not working. // confused why

Please help me someway.

I've been seeking/searching the site for projects to test the new WinBuilder...

Apart from the project that comes as demo (Win7PE)... I can't find any more projects anywhere...

As a suggestion I  would throw that in the "Downloads" section the "Projects" option should be divided in 2...

"Projects New/2013" and "Projects Legacy"...

of course for the new (WB2013 and further) and legacy (until WB 0.82) projects

As a suggestion to Nuno... why not update LiveXP to -> LiveXP 2014... for the new WinBuilder

This way the new section for WinBuilder 2013 would have at least 2 projects...

(WinBuilder seems to conflict with the attached RTE and uses the installed RTE)

Has somebody similar experiences and can give an "everytime valid" solution?

I'm a new member in this forum.

Working in a IT service, I've to build a "LIVE XP" solution, but as it's not my speciality.. I'm looking all "HOW TO" on the net. and found your community.

In this topic I do not ask for a Step by step process to get the LIVE XP. 

But, just the confirmation if that I'm thinking about LIVE XP is right, or if I'm totally wrong.

First, the need :

As many company, we must leave XP OS for Win7. Even almost all our software can work under Win7 few of them can't run...

I proposed a solution "XP MODE" in order to continue to work on these software.

But, our security team does not like this solution and ask for another one "LIVE XP"...

This LIVE XP, have to get our software pre-installed. 

Second, What is LIVE XP ?

For me, LIVE XP means a CD/DVD or USB containing an XP OS able to run in RAM.

The user plug his media, boot on it, and can work directly on this XP, without impact on the HDD (where Win7 is installed)

But, when I read some topics/documentation on the Net, I figure out that the most common apps "BartPE"  is not made for "working" but for "FIXING" some issue on the real OS of the PC..

• In the GUI type "auto" (w/o the quotes) and click / hit "return" / "execute"

Why it is called a 'GUI" then ?.  So Winbuilder is also going back to the DOS era ?.

• I have not performed any cleanup in the registy file, Like removing CurrentVersion and installer sections of the registry. just in case.

• I have tried not to use variables and hard coded the x:\i386, X:\Prrogram Files and X:\program Files\Common Files. just in case.

• I have used, WinInstall, InstallRight and VMware Setup Capture to  Capture file and registry changes. Each of the installation application works when installed on another systems.

I was  rewriting  Acronis Echo Enterprise server script  and place the %Program Files% variable in registry entries like so.

However, When  I went to launch Echo Server it fails because it could not find the common files as above.  Only after I replace the variable with “X:\Program Files” did the application work in LiveXP.

it does not intall it although it shows the drivers in the host pc . Driver Import pe message shows driver needs bus driver and the log shows copy error file error about driver files. any hint to solve  it..THX

Livexp loads to desktop then BSOD error is file frambuf infinite loop and 0xEA.full error code is:

I tried live xp build made of windows xp pro sp2 and windows 2003 standard sp2 sources with Create Iso , Wimboot and BootSDI scripts from cd and usb but same error. i cannot boot live xp

Only BOOTSDI.IMG  taken from  livexp_ram.iso made with BootSDI scripts boots , but not livexp_ram.iso .

 In order to boot  BOOTSDI.IMG file with grub4dos ,  BOOTSDI.IMG , SETUPLDR,  NTDETECT,  WINNT.SIF files are on the root of cd or usb

...finding the way to have most "basic" parts of a Windows XP working (which involves dependecies and Registry settings set-up in "modular" packages or directories - I can expand on this approach I have devised/used).....

....The Rules of the game are simple (actually only two):

1.starting from a "bare minimum" base (that can be in any case "expanded" in case of need, i.e. this "bare minimum" is "negotiable") you add one app (and one only) and all it's depencies in a separate folder, including (if needed) .reg files and regsvr32 commands.

2.Only in EXCEPTIONAL cases you add anything to \System32\ (and you document this addition by adding a \system32\ subfolder to your app folder containng the .dll/whatever that needs to be aded to \System32\

Each single app (it's folder) should be able to be added by itself to the build and work. This way we create (initially) a large number of duplicates, but we know for sure the exact dependencies of each and every app/tool, and we can later replace these duplicates with "hard links" (to reduce the size).

I've been poking around the forums/tutorials for several days now looking for guidance on how to add my own custom app to my Win7PE SE build.

I'm using WB 082 and the Win7PE SE project and I've gotten it to build a bootable ISO.

I have many years experience as a programmer/script developer so I can understand all that's going on generally in the scripts, but I can't find a good tutorial on how to encode executables, create shortcuts, etc.

Isn't there a "template" application anywhere that provides a basic skeleton script that can be used as a starting point. 

What I'm looking for is the "hello world" app that I can copy/modify to get my app off the ground.

Vi sono alcune informazioni non trattate nei forum tecnici, ad esempio le istruzioni per editare i file ISO creati con Mkisofs tramite UltraISO, verso cui jaclaz (Wonko the Sane) ha sempre espresso diffidenza e che invece io uso da anni senza problemi.

How to boot BOOTSDI.IMG of live xp on usb...? i get error file not found  (hd0,0)/NTLDR  with following commands:

This currently takes some time. And the build is waiting for completion of the delete.

On my system that takes about 45 seconds in average.

My idea was to start a background task which does the deletion.

I implemented for a windows host, and it works very well:

Average build time of a PE with standard components and internet access by M$ InternetExplorer takes about one minute!

I need the forum's help to code for Linux, Mac etc. My knowledge there is too small.

j'ai utilisé acronis, driveimage, clone disk mais le format n'est pas reconnu.

Et concernant les conversions j'ai vraiment du mal.

Il principale problema penso che sia nella mancata firma dei driver. Nonostante abbia fatto la procedura alla lettera infatti, non vedo montato automaticamente il disco vhd. Allora ho copiato il contenuto dell'immagine WinVblock.ima all'interno di una cartella.

Ho lanciato l'installazione premendo F8 al boot della iso e selezionado la disattivazione del controllo firma dei driver, verificando che la cartella dei driver winVblock e il suo contenuto fossero visibili dall'applicazione dell'installazione (attraverso l'esplora risorse lanciato dal notepad). I file vhd, iso, e la cartella dei driver sono tutti visibili all'applicazione ma provando a linkare i driver l'apposita voce dell'interfaccia non trova nessun driver firmato compatibile.

Qualche idea ?

durante il processo di installazione incontro però la seguente problematica:

il boot da iso del disco di installazione va a buon fine, non viene riconosciuta in automatico il disco vhd, ma tramite la pressione di F6 riesco a linkare i driver winVblock e firadisk a 32 bit contenuti all'interno di un immagine virtuale di un floppy  montata con grub4dos come da guida.

una volta selezionato il disco vhd tuttavia il processo di installazione si ferma su una schermata che riporta un messaggio del tipo "il cd potrebbe essere corrotto"

la iso del disco di installazione sembra a posto perchè procedendo con una installazione su disco fisico il processo va a buon fine.

i driver WinVblock e Firadisk sono quelli recuperati dall'immagine winvblock.ima.gz al seguente sito:

When I run winbuilder, I receive this error.

Je souhaiterais savoir s'il est possible de modifier les paramètres réseau, pour avoir "Réseau Domestique" à la place de "Réseau Public" lorsque le CD Winbuilder (Winbuider version 082 et Windows 7 x86) est démarré.

J'utilise "NetworkCenter" et "penetwork".

Dans aucun de ces 2 scripts je n'ai pas trouvé de paramètre à modifier pour indiquer quel réseau choisir.

je souhaiterais savoir s'il est possible que des fichiers soient ajoutés sans être obligé de les encoder dans le script avec la commande "Encode".

Je demande ça car je souhaiterait ajouter les fichiers de mise à jour de virus (.dat) dans le répertoire où se trouvent les fichiers du script.

Lorsque j'encode ces fichiers dans le script cela augmente énormément la taille du script, il passe d'environ 3 500 Ko à plus de 165 Mo, et en plus Winbuilder.exe est beaucoup plus lent.

Si je ne les encode pas, ces fichiers ne sont pas ajoutés à l'ISO et n'apparaissent pas dans le dossier qui se trouve dans le dossier Programs (Programs\xxx) lorsque le CD est démarré

The question is whether necessary codepages and fonts are defined / copied.

Maybe not really legal, but "in best intentions": Somebody may consider to PM me links to his personal source CD.

It is a new generation of WinBuilder, appearing soon.

It is still named WinBuilder, the "2013" is only used as tagging.

To avoid some user disappointments, when WinBuilder is published the first time, some posts with information about syntax will be published here.

It is not a standard documentation, but I hope that developers can understand.

Generally: WinBuilder scripts are Beanshell scripts. The Beanshell (and therefore also standard java) syntax is the base.

A real documentation will follow after WinBuilder left the beta stage.

wir setzen Checkpoint Full Disk Encryption ein.

Dazu habe ich mit der Win7PESE (32bit) (Win7PE_SE_2013-05-24.zip)

einen Boot-Stick erstellt auf dem das Tool: FDE-Dynamic_Mount_Utility_15.zip

enthalten ist. Leider gibt bei dem Modell Latitude E6520 von DELL das Problem

das wenn ich die Treiber von http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest

nachlade (wegen dem Netzwerkarten Treiber) zu einem BlueScreen ( 0x05001146 ) kommt.

Das Modell Latitude E6530 macht diese Probleme nicht, leider sind aber viele Latitude E6520 im Einsatz.

Wer kann mir sagen was man da tun kann um das Problem zu fixen ?

windows cannot find c:\wincapi\projects\tools\vistape-capi\iso-burner.exe. i checked the file is missing from tools.

also when creating iso file to specified directory the file does not show up nor does it show up under

%basedir% the only files that appear under the %isodir% are bootmgr, menu.lst, vistape.cfg, and vistape.wim

i dont get an error when creating new iso file  without burn iso checked , but nothing shows up.

i just want to create the iso file and burn it later.

   The DriverPack with the hard driver is loaded in \Workbench\Common\DPs\MassStorage\ but it is not being loaded during boot up. My network driver is loaded in Workbench\Common\PENetwork_drivers\ so it should load when PeNetwork is run, but it doesn't.

    ANyone have any idea? There are other Driver Packs in those directories but I didn't think that should matter.

       My question is--and I know this is overly broad--what are the differences between LiveXp and a full install of the operating system? Also is it possible to modify the build to make these porable programs work?

       My other thought was that if I can't run Portable OUtlook in LiveXP, what about running it in Portable VirtualBox under LiveXP? What adjustments would I need to make to get PortableVirtualBox to run?

       Basically what I'm trying to do is create OUtlook on a key that will run on any PC without depending on the native OS.
