This suggestion is seriously meant, but if it is not realized, no problem.

Background: Today in a post i read the poster speaking about 'his age'

I looked into his profile and saw, that perhaps he still sh** into his diapers when I already dealed with Pythagoras, Caesar and other different unimportant people from the ice-age.

Maybe it is interesting, instead / additionally to the age store in the profile a
'Dinosaur Class'

This could tell about the user's entry into the computer's universe, maybe
'Before Billy the Door'
'DOS ???' anybody here? If yes, as programmer? (I did  )
'WIN 1.0' anybody here? If yes, as programmer?
'WIN 2.0' anybody here? If yes, as programmer? (I did ;) )
''WIN 3.??' anybody here? If yes, as programmer?
'W95'
...
'NT4'
...
'XP' / W2003'

I would ommit 'Vista' because this can only blame!

And anywhen around 'Win???' there could ne a '???x'

BTW: as second, and more import suggestion: Store the Dinosaur Class in the profile shown in posts!

I am afraid that your venerable age is producing some effects on your memory about history....;)

I strictly have to CONTRADICT:

If I speak with my children about such people, it really is ice-age. And that is the today's usual opinion.

For me (looks like for you, too, they and some others are unfortunatelly forgotten now, but I still use everything I learned from them)
BTW: I sometimes have the opinion that you, too, at shool you got to know Old Greek like me

You did see the 'r'! The 'r' has been intended!

You are common with presenting links, so have a look at http://en.wikipedia..../Ancient_Greece

And if you do not know it yet, read carefully and learn a lot!

Peter

BTW: If 'Pytagoras' cannot be found there, give me a hint. I then will try to add / explain some necessary facts.
If 'Caesar' cannot be found there, that's correct. He is an old Roman, and only in some special cases possibly could be found in 'Ancient Greece' WikiPedia

This sounds like a fun request..

How about doing it on a similar fashion to the way how the country flags are selected? ;)

Would this be acceptable?

If so, the only thing missing would be choosing the categories to be placed and of course respect the will of the member if he wishes to keep this information undisclosed.

Don't worry, Jaclaz uses glasses and reads quicker than most humans ever thought possible ..

--------------

For my case, the first OS I've worked with was DOS 3.30 and shortly after was lucky enough to use windows 3.0, my age is certainly not comparable to other venerable members but then again, computer technology took it's sweet time to arrive at my country..

As explained, it IS A FUN REQUEST, but would be nice to have it!
If you can fullfill w/o big reprogamming, why not!
The 'country flag' way looks good!

At least bugs were easier to spot from far away..

Let's try it then, just need some suggestions for the categories that will be presented to choose from.

Would also be fun to use small 16x16 icons but I don't have a proper set of images for this task.

But it can be seen how language changed between ice-age and Billy the Door times.
Many accents are on a syllabel different from what I remember. (Or is it the hexameter letting speak different?)

But four accents on 'Errusato' or three on 'iemenos' would have been totally impossible for our friend Homer. (btw I remember 'erruesato')

Was nice to remember my ice-age school time!

Thanks!

Peter ;)

Nice to wake up some of your ice age school time remembrances!
four accents was really impossible for Homer as far as greek alphabet in classic antiquity had capital letters only, without accents.

So: What I learned with lc and uc letters and accents has been a fake?
Unfortunatelly it is too late to remand regrets from my old teachers. I think they do not live any more.
